All-New Chevrolet Trailblazer To Launch Next Week In Korea

General Motors will launch the all-new Chevrolet Trailblazer next week in South Korea, the second country in which the subcompact-plus crossover will be produced after China. More specifically, the vehicle’s presentation will take place on Thursday, January 16th in the Chroma Club of the Yeongjong Paradise City complex, located in Incheon.

Despite having been already revealed in China and in the United States, this will be the first time the new Chevrolet Trailblazer will be shown in the Korean market. For the upcoming event appropriately named “Chevrolet Trailblazer Media Showcase,” the company invited members of the press who will not only get a detailed overview of the vehicle through its development stage, but a test drive as well.

The all-new Chevrolet Trailblazer is a strategic vehicle for GM’s business in South Korea, as it will be positioned between the Trax and the Equinox in that country’s competitive SUV market. As such, the arrival of the Trailblazer is expected to improve the Chevrolet brand’s image in addition to boosting domestic and export sales of GM Korea.

The Trailblazer and the new Buick Encore GX represent the first products of the company’s 2018-2022 national manufacturing plan. Another small Chevrolet utility vehicle will be completely designed and developed by GM Korea, whose production is scheduled to start in 2022 at the GM Changwon plant.

First revealed during the 2019 Shanghai auto show, the Chevrolet Trailblazer CUV is based on the new GM VSS-F platform, and a model the automaker plans to market worldwide. While the Trailblazers manufactured at the GM Dong Yue plant will be reserved exclusively for the Chinese market, the GM Bupyeong plant in South Korea has the important mission of supplying the rest of the international markets – including the United States.

As is the case with the North American market, GM is planning to continue selling the first-generation Chevrolet Trax in South Korea for now. Meanwhile, the Trax was discontinued in China in mid-2019, as the company launched the all-new Chevrolet Tracker that’s based on the GM GEM platform.

  1. That;s no TrailBlazer, it would get stuck in a Gopher hole.

  2. GM still has too many platforms/architectures floating around. With the VSS “kits” ready it is remarkable that GM is using anything else aside from GEM anywhere.
PSA-FCA will have 75 percent of autos on mostly one scalable platform within a few years–a move saving billions.

    1. This is not a real Chevy trailblazer 😠, first of all why are you making the trailblazer smaller.and second if I wanted to buy the new one , I wouldn’t even consider ever buying a newer model from you, I will keep the real 2003 trailblazer I already have.
