2021 GMC Canyon AT4 To Offer Off-Road Performance Edition Package

Earlier this month, General Motors announced the 2021 GMC Canyon AT4 – the replacement to the Canyon All Terrain. But what The General didn’t announce is an optional kit for the 2021 GMC Canyon AT4 called the AT4 Off-road Performance Edition Package, which GM Authority was able to exclusively uncover.

Pricing or photos of the Canyon AT4 with the package are currently not available, but we do know that the package includes the following content:

Exterior

  • 17″ x 8″ gloss-Black aluminum wheels
    • Replacing the standard aluminum wheels
  • Spray-on bedliner
  • Black AT4 badges
  • Performance exhaust tip
  • Front Performance skid plate
  • Mid performance skid plate
  • Off-Road rocker protection

Interior

  • All-weather floor liners

Mechanical

  • Front leveling kit

All that is on top of everything that the new 2021 GMC Canyon AT4 already offers. Compared to the Canyon All Terrain that it replaces, the Canyon AT4 features a bolder exterior design defined by dark chrome finishes, a larger grille and red recovery hooks, while the cabin gains unique Kalahari stitching and the AT4 logo embroidered on the headrests. The mechanical bits carry over from the Canyon All Terrain, including the standard 3.6L V6 LGZ gasoline engine mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission or the optional 2.8L I4 LWN turbo-diesel Duramax engine mated to a six-speed auto.

Off-road equipment on the 2021 Canyon AT4 includes 17-inch aluminum wheels with wrapped in 31-inch Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac tires, an off-road tuned suspension with Advanced Hill Descent Control System, a four-wheel drive system with the Eaton G80 Rear Automatic Locking Differential and a transfer case skid plate.

The AT4 Off-Road Performance Edition package will be available exclusively on the new AT4 trim level. GMC will announce pricing closer to the start of production around June-July of 2020.

  1. WTF, nothing in the performance package actually improves performance. Disappointing.

  2. What are you taking about?
    -PERFORMANCE exhaust tip
    -Front PERFORMANCE skit plate
    -Mid PERFORMANCE skid plate
That’s at minimum 100hp to the wheels.

  3. This is basically GMC’s version of the Colorado Trail Runner. It is a ZR2 less the wider track and shocks.

They adapt the ZR2 skids over since the Z71 really has just one transfer plate and that is it.

This is actually a good starting point for someone who wants to lift a truck or do their own modifications. The ZR2 is a bit limiting due to the nature of their suspension. You can modify it but it is much more expensive.

This truck compliments it and can be had at a much cheaper price. At least in the Colorado in the lower to mid 30’s depending on how it is optioned and what deals are going. .

At least it is not just a fake roll bar and stickers.

  4. I’m surprised GM didn’t just put another plastic emblem on the back that said,

    ———– Performance ————-

GM just released the all new GMC Canyon AT4 ” performance ” Truck !!

The upgrades to the performance are listed below :

#1 ————- A high performance plastic badge that reads performance.

    1. They’ve had that out for a while now on the GM accessories page. It gets mounted on the center console, just below the console lid handle.;)
