Stylish 1972 Oldsmobile Vista Cruiser Headed To Auction In January

Auction company Russo and Steele is preparing for its big Scottsdale 2020 sale early next year, in which several enticing General Motors vehicles will cross the auction block.
One of our favorite vehicles heading to Russo and Steele’s Scottsdale 2020 auction is this 1972 Oldsmobile Vista Cruiser. Once a family-oriented road trip wagon, this Vista Cruiser has been transformed into a rather hot muscle car, with a massive 502 cubic-inch (that’s 8.2-liters!) Big Block V8 crate engine sitting under its hood. The huge Big Block is paired with a 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission, which sends power to the rear wheels through a Posi-Traction rear end with 3.73 gears.
This Vista Cruiser also features a number of modern-day upgrades, including a Ridetech air-ride suspension system, four-wheel disc brakes and American Racing alloy wheels shod in new tires. This car also left the factory with power steering, power brakes and power windows.
Oh, and if you don’t feel like listing to the 502 cu.-in. V8 rumble away while you’re out driving, you can always turn on the AM/FM stereo, which is boosted with a modern day amplifier.
It’s not clear what Russo and Steele expects this bumblebee-yellow 1972 Oldsmobile Vista Cruiser to sell for. The auction listing is fairly light on details, so we’re not sure what kind of other restorative work has been done to it, apart from what we can see in the photos. The ad also doesn’t say how many miles it has clocked up with the current engine/transmission combination.
Let us know what you think of this Oldsmobile Vista Cruiser and how much you think it will sell for in the comments below. You can also check out the listing at this link for some additional photos.

Is a grocery getter worth expensive customizing?
Sure! if your just having fun, and aren’t laboring under the delusion that it’s suddenly worth it’s weight in gold because you saw fit to throw a little money at it.
But as we all know, nearly everyone believes that BS about old cars accruing value…LOL
Well… duh! If you consider a 3700-lb. classic with a 502 a “grocery getter”, then you’re nowhere near as sharp as your tongue!
Get a clue, already, Charles… jeez! Guess we won’t be bidding against YOU, will we?
