We’ve been waiting on official details with regard to the next-generation 2021 Cadillac Escalade for a while now, but luckily, it looks like the waiting is about to come to an end, as the full-size luxury SUV was just confirmed to make its big debut on February 4th, 2020. The new Escalade will be shown at an invite-only media event in Los Angeles.
“Since its public debut at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance in 1998, the Cadillac Escalade has become a cultural phenomenon and defined the full-size luxury SUV segment. On February 4th, we will unveil the 2021 Cadillac Escalade, bringing the next generation of technology to one of the most recognizable vehicles on the road – we can’t wait to tell you the story,” reads the event invite text.
As we covered earlier in the week, grainy pictures of the new Cadillac Escalade were recently leaked on the web, showing the fresh full-size luxury utility at what appears to be the General Motors Arlington Assembly plant in Texas. The new Escalade is slated for production side-by-side with the new 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban, both of which were unveiled earlier this week.
We also got a sneak peek at the 2021 Escalade’s interior earlier this year thanks to a series of spy photos that captured a prototype model out testing on public roads.
The next-gen 2021 Cadillac Escalade is set to receive a complete overhaul, bringing the iconic SUV nameplate into an all-new fifth generation.
The new Escalade will offer a brand-new exterior design, a new interior design, an all-new platform, and a raft of the latest technology features to boot. The bones of the machine will make the move to the new GM T1 platform, and will feature a new multilink independent rear suspension setup, as well as Magnetic Ride Control, plus the possibility of Air Ride Adaptive suspension.
The new Escalade may is also expected to offer a new high-performance variant with a supercharged V8 powertrain under the hood, plus a new battery electric variant with 400 miles of range per charge.
Stay tuned as we follow this story as it develops. In the meantime, subscribe to GM Authority for more Cadillac Escalade news, Cadillac news and around-the-clock GM news coverage.

Did you hear the news that Cadillac will soon be going back to actual names on their vehicles, and may be an all-EV (or majority-EV) brand by 2030. They say they will continue to sell ICE vehicles as long as demand merits.
They say they will continue to sell ICE vehicles as long as demand merits ?
So if they continue to make the ICE FWD/AWD – ICE SUVs, and sales continue to flatline or slide, Cadillac will be done with ICE then ?
My point is, the ” ALL NEW ” Cadillac ” ONSLAUGHT ” of ICE vehicles, other than this Escalade, will barely hold place, in my opinion.
If this is the last of the Cadillac ICE vehicles until EVs I would like to know, so I can move elsewhere.
But this again is a GM problem, its like the large companies always say, ” how do we know what to invest in if we don’t know the future “.
I think this is a funny thing, yet very sad for Cadillac, it seems GM will only invest in vehicles that sell, and the customer will only buy the vehicles they want and that will be around in the future !
Can someone explain how this will ever work out ?
GM thinks now the EV Cadillac will be the savior, HOW ?
OK so if the next Cadillac, say ( would have been XT5 but now a name ) EV crossover, or whatever you want to call it, is released, and it is GREAT, GREAT !
The new EV platform will allow GM to sit a FWD – RWD – or AWD in the same vehicle, GREAT, GREAT !
Yet now if you want or need an ICE, and the new Cadillac X is GREAT, you still cant or won’t buy the next Cadillac.
So at this point in 2025 does Cadillac just go away ? And does GM blame it on slow sales numbers again or still ? Because its the same game GM has plaid with Cadillac for at least the last 20 years or more !
I really like the XT4 !
I really like the XT6 !
I really like the Escalade !
We will not drive an Escalade as for us they are to big.
Mother in law would have gotten a XT6 but not 3.6 FWD, like her Enclave, she is just getting a new Enclave !
We would have bought a XT4 but not with the 2.0T FWD , we will just get another Canyon Denali ! ( 5 seat mid-sized, RWD/AWD )
So look at the sales numbers, when GM sits and analyzes the numbers, the mid-sized Cadillac SUV numbers have barley moved upward. WHY ? Because potential Cadillac buyers, and current Cadillac owners did NOT want an expensive average GM blah ” Good Enough ” Cadillac mid-sized SUV. And we ALL know the LARGEST segment is MID-SIZED crossover ! And GM does Great in this segment !, But NOT Cadillac, because again it is the same average GM blah ” Good Enough ” mid-sized SUV.
Cadillac,
It doesn’t matter what you call a vehicle ( from the start ) the vehicle makes the name !,
It doesn’t matter how much or little it costs, if its not value in relation to the competitor !
If its not what the customer wants, the sales will not be there, no matter what !
Good luck Cadillac in 2025 !
just more opinion.
Why wait that long when it’s already leaked lol
No doubt. We have all seen it already now. Release it.
Reports say that this new Cadillac Escalade will not be getting a Blackwing V8 or any performance update over the standard 6.2L EcoTec V8 engine which means is just a bling out Chevy Suburban.
But that says the same for navigator as that’s just a blinged out expedition right?
Will the new Escalade have Super Cruise. I’ll buy one right away if they have Super Cruise. Otherwise I’ll wait until Super Cruise is offered.
yes, if you watch the teaser video on cadillac’s twitter page you can see the green light on the starring wheel which indicates super cruise.
Got to say, what I can see from the interior view, dash, computer screen, etc. It is second to none. Great improvement.
