Let’s say things take a turn for the worse and suddenly you find yourself locked into a post-apocalyptic death race to appease the local warlord and save your struggling dirt farm village. Hypothetically, of course. What would be your chariot of choice? Well, if you’re anything like Instagram user @TheMikeMahdi, you grab the nearest torch and a 2014 Chevrolet Corvette C7 and get to cuttin’.
Okay, so civilization is doing pretty okay-ish at the moment (relatively speaking), but we’re still loving this Mad Max-inspired Chevrolet Corvette. It’s got just the right aesthetic, with an exterior-mounted roll cage, stripped-down body panels, and fat tires in the corners. We’re thinking a gun turret in back would make for a nice bow on top.
According to the builder’s Instagram feed, the rollers are Forgestar M14 three-piece units measured at 19 by 12 inches in front and 18 by 14 inches in the rear, with Kumho tires providing the stick. The rubber is sized at 335/30R19 in front and 305/60R18 in back.
And oh yeah, it’ll totally do a burnout.
No word on output, but by the sound of it, we’re guessing there’s at least a few extra ponies to play with. In stock form, the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette C7 is equipped with the naturally aspirated 6.2L LT1 V8, which is tuned to produce 455 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 460 pound-feet of torque at 4,600 rpm in base form.
Granted, the builder had to slice up a Chevrolet Corvette C7 to make this thing a reality, quite possible ruining one of the last front-engine Corvettes ever produced. But hey, when it comes to saving your village from that warlord, you gotta do what ya gotta do, right?
