Here Are The First Photos Of The 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe

We can’t bring you the full details on the 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe until 8 p.m. ET, but we are able to share the first photos of the SUV, taken live from the debut event at Little Caesars Arena in Metro Detroit.

As you can see from the photos, the 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe and the 2021 Chevrolet Suburban both take after the current Chevrolet Silverado, sporting a similar grille and headlights. GM has also gone for the “floating roof” look, blacking out the B-pillar, part of the C-pillar and the D-pillar to make the roof look as though it is separated from its supports. The creases in the hood of both SUVs also remind us of the new Chevrolet Blazer.

The rear tailgate features a large trim piece in the middle, which integrates the Chevrolet Bow Tie emblem in the center. The taillights also have a new LED pattern and are reminiscent of the Silverado’s rear taillights, though they are not completely the same. New wheel designs will be in store as well, as you may be able to see from the new wheels in these photos.

The Z71 off-road model also debuted, showing off its towering lifted suspension, knobby off-road tires, unique front fascia, front skid plate, red tow hooks and Z71 badging. It will be joined by a luxurious new High Country trim, which will serve as the new range-topping model, taking after the Silverado High Country.

One photo also gives us a glimpse of the interior, showing off a tablet-style center display screen that protrudes from the center console, along with touchscreens on the front-seat headrests.

Check out all the photos in the gallery below and be sure to stay tuned for our complete story on the 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe, coming shortly.

    1. Impressive !!! Z71 looks stout… hope 6.2 finds it’s way under the hood. With torque and tow capacity to match…

      1. Easy bet is the 6.2 across the line up like 2020 Silverado
What would be great is the 6.6 gasser for a Tahoe HD

  3. Not bad, looks upscale. Is it just me or does the front end look like it’s missing the lower light also I could do without that trim piece on the rear around the bow tie.

  4. Just my opinion here, but……the silver Z71 is brutally ugly. Pretty underwhelmed here. Hope the Yukon looks better, usually does. The GMA render looked better than these chevs.

    1. Yes, that Z71 is ugly. If my dog was that ugly, I’d shave it’s butt and teach it to walk backwards!

The others look better until you get to the front end. Then it all goes down hill from there.

      1. Hey. Dan. I don’t share your opinion about the front end. I’ve seen worse.

But your comment about your dogs buttocks made me laugh. Good fun!

Maybe the front end isn’t for you, however get your crayons out and let’s see what you would do…

This is what I intended to write. I’m at work now on my computer. So it and GM Authority seem to get along.

    2. To each his own. I’m not easily impressed, but GM finally figured something out. The lifted Tahoe Z71 will sell like nothing you’ve ever seen. That’s redneck candy. This will work really well for them.

      1. “Redneck Candy”

        Ha! Pretty funny line!

Can you imagine the outrage if you used a defamatory statement about a person of color?

That’s what I like about us pale-faced people. We don’t get so upset over generalizations. They are just words. It doesn’t hurt.

Pointing a shotgun at my head, seems like it might be a bit more concerning?

  5. Well, nothing like taking your ugly truck and ramming it into your large suv’s. So far, no thanks. If the Jeep counterpart is anything nice looking at all, then it will be huge competition to this.

  6. I like it in red for sure, I do like the z71 package since it is a SUV. However the front grill has to grow on me a little bit. I know the 2.7 would probably be the engine that will see more in this application. The 5.3 will remain the bread and butter but I hope they offer the 6.2 along in lower trim levels like the Silverado. I don’t see a point in offering a 4.3 in it if they are going to offer the 2.7 though. That’s just my two cents.

  7. I just threw up in my mouth. The grill on the upper trims looks way overdone. I actually like the base trim front end better. Also, what’s with the trend in interior car design where you have to have the screen stick up from the dash. Previous models had it integrated into the dash, not just stuck on like an after thought.

  8. If that interior shotnis the High Country they missed the target hard again.
Doesn’t seem like a bigger screen is possible without completely rerouting HVAC vents

  9. I for one, actually don’t mind the Silverado‘s face. It’s not pretty, but, it has character. Maybe trying a little bit too hard to look modern?

But for the life of me, after slow sales and a lot of negative comments in the social media world, I’m surprised they would actually stick it in one of their best selling vehicles.

This will sell. It’s not bad, and in fact, (in my opinion) the current face is kind of boring.

  10. I love it. Interior looks amazing as well. Glad the Z71 is so differentiated.

  11. The lighting is not helping pics. I hope Chevy updates their site soon with pics.

People are always in shock at first. Everyone thought the last gen was terrible on day 1 and it crushed the market and atps skyrocketed.

  12. The Z71 model looks like a Land Cruiser-killer.

  13. That weird trim piece on the tailgate shouldn’t last more than one model year, it’s stupid. The C pillar window trim/fake trim/floating roof trim piece on top of trim piece on top of trim piece looks very weird and sloppy with so many different shapes and finishes butted against each other. Otherwise I can live with it because I had low expectations.

  14. Looks great in my opinion. They toned down the front fascia from the Silverado and made it much more subtle, and thus attractive. Not much change down the side. Rear is simple, but nice. Overall, it doesn’t offend, pushes the Chevy design forward, and stays true to the Suburban/Tahoe line. Not bad!

And look at the skidplates on that Z71! I can’t believe how high that lift looks.

  15. I like them, though I was expecting unique front fascias to differentiate them from the Silverado. Chevy should do a T1 Blazer two door SUV with raised suspension and true off road capability. Chevy also need to seriously consider panel versions of thee Suburban and Tahoe for fleets and small businesses. Also a stretched 6 door Suburban XL variant.

  16. While the new Tahoe adds 5-6 inches, the overall look is clean and lean, which is a major accomplishment. The third row, with the lowered IRS floor and added inches, will no longer fall short on room versus the competition.

The new Suburban adds an inch or so, but also actually looks much leaner than the existing 2020 model. The designers really know how to avoid the heavy bulk look, which sets these 2021 models apart from their competition!

  17. The front end and rear tail lights are horrible. Hate the front on the Silverado and I was hoping GM would do something different on the Tahoe/Suburban. No fog lights and tow hooks? I like the interior but hate the elimination of the column shifter.

  18. First impressions by me are positive. Especially after looking at additional photos on Jalopnik. The interior looks much higher quality and there appear to be a lot less hard plastic surfaces and more soft touch surfaces. Hope that turns out to be the case. The IRS, 6.2 gas engine and the Duramax diesel options will make these trucks strong competitors in their market. Styling is a subjective thing, but, again, overall I think it is improvement on the current gen trucks. The one thing have not seen a good photo of are the front seats and those are key to how well the interior will come across. Are they hard and flat or contoured and supportive? Both trucks will get much better cargo volume, better ride and handling with the IRS. If I was in the market, I’d buy the Z71.

  19. The Z71 looks incredibly top heavy, you can fit a full grown adult in those wheel wells. There is far too much space between the tire and body work.
