Welcome back to Dealer Find, our ongoing GM Authority series where we scour the listings for hidden gems left on the dealer lot. Our latest Dealer Find is a brand-new 2016 GMC Sierra 1500, which looks ready to roll with all the stuff you need, and none of the stuff you don’t.

The GMC Sierra full-size pickup truck line was refreshed for the 2016 model year, which slots in as the third model year for the third generation. Based on the GM K2XX vehicle platform, 2016 model year vehicles gained an updated exterior styling, as well as a range of new technologies and features.

This particular 2016 GMC Sierra 1500 is offered with a Regular Cab, Long Box body configuration. Motivation is provided by the naturally aspirated 4.3L LV3 V6 powerplant with FlexFuel capability. Output is rated at 285 horsepower at 5,300 rpm and 305 pound-feet of torque at 3,900 rpm, all of which is directed through the 6L80 six-speed automatic transmission and rear-wheel-drive.

This particular example also includes a 4.2-inch diagonal color display and 3.5-inch diagonal monochromatic Driver Information Center display. A four-speaker audio system provides the tunes on the ride home.

Outside, this 2016 GMC Sierra 1500 is finished in Summit White paint, while the cabin space is done up with Dark Ash upholstery with Jet Black accents.

With loads of space in back and just enough comfort and technology in the cabin, this is one workhorse that’s sure to get the job done right. Interested buyers will find this fantastic work-ready pickup listed for sale by Donaghe Buick GMC in Greenville, Texas. Pricing is set at $29,191, with just eight miles on the odometer.

  1. Examples such as this are not the dealer’s proudest inventory management moment…although I bet the dealer involved loves it when this unit is described as a ‘hidden gem..’ they’d better hope that the eventual customer doesn’t first consult with a reputable used car value guide…

  2. Wee bit overpriced. 2019s are cheaper.

    1. No kidding. The 2019 base Sierra is nicer in my opinion too

    2. That is probably the 2016 Sticker price? No wonder it is still available. Need to drop $10k. These are the K.I.S.S. version of trucks. (Keep it simple stu..)

  3. It’s still available because it’s about $8500 overpriced.

  4. What GM Authority should do is give us the description of the vehicle as they are doing now but call the dealer and ask “Why hasn’t this vehicle sold?”

  5. The dealer has no interest in moving that truck. You can buy a brand new 2020 truck with the current rebates a whole lot cheaper.

  6. Whoa! I sure hope that is the MSRP and NOT the selling price. That thing will rot there till pigs fly at that price!

This just goes to show how stupidly over-priced trucks have become. To think that a “regular cab” “v-6” “2 wheel drive” base truck without even power windows would sell for $29+ is just stupid.

  7. I just looked at a 2018 new Work Truck, same as this but 4WD priced at $25,000.

  8. What we had here ; was a FAILURE to negotiate .. [[ A play on words from the movie ” Cool Hand Luke ” ]] …

  10. Looks to me as if the management at that dealership has not done his/her job effectively enough in order to get that 3 year old truck off of their inventory, that to me looks pretty bad. Like it has been stated in earlier comments, that truck needs to be sold at a Liquidation Price ASAP!!
