A new Buick discount takes 20 percent off the full-size premium sedan in December 2019, which can add up to over $8,000 off in some cases. The automaker has been offering similar discounts for quite some time now, including the incentive in June and discount in October. However, unlike the Buick discount offered in June, which was available to GM owners, this month’s offer is exclusive to current owners of non-GM vehicles. It’s worth noting that a nearly identical incentive was also offered in August and in September. For December, Buick is also offering a combined discount that includes interest-free financing.
The Incentive
Nationwide Buick discount offers on the 2019 LaCrosse premium luxury sedan are as follows:
- Retail Offer: 20 percent Below MSRP for most models
- Â Offer available for non-GM lessees
- Financial Offer: 0 percent APR (interest-free) for 72 months + $1,000 Cash
- Buyer must finance with GM Financial
- Excludes base (1SV) models
Interested parties should note that both of the above Buick discount offers are valid through January 2nd, 2020.
When the 20-percent Buick discount is applied to a 2019 LaCrosse Essence model with front-wheel drive and an MSRP of $41,780, the MSRP decreases by over $8,000 using the following incentives:
- $3,030 price reduction Below MSRP + $5,326 purchase allowance = $8,356 total discount.
As such, the above discount lowers the price to a more appealing $33,424. For reference, here are the 2019 Buick LaCrosse models and their respective MSRPs, including the $925 destination freight charge:
- Preferred – $34,595
- Essence – $37,295
- Premium – $39,595
- Sport Touring – $40,295
- Avenir – $45,795
As we mentioned, it seems that GM’s main purpose with this Buick LaCrosse discount is to move existing inventory while also attracting customers of competing vehicles.

About Buick LaCrosse
The Buick LaCrosse is a full-size premium sedan that slots above the compact Buick Verano and midsize Buick Regal. The current, third-generation LaCrosse was introduced for the 2017 model year. The vehicle is based on the long wheelbase variant of the GM E2 platform. The short-wheelbase variant of the same platform is shared with the sixth-generation Buick Regal and ninth-generation Chevrolet Malibu.
The 2018 model introduced several new colors and the GM 9-speed automatic transmission in place of the 2017 model's 8-speed. It also added a new standard powertrain in the form of the mild-hybrid 2.5L engine with eAssist coupled with a six-speed automatic transmission. In addition, the 2018 LaCrosse Avenir was introduced to serve as the range-topping model.
The 2019 LaCrosse introduced two new colors and a Sport Touring (1SH) trim. A refresh is expected for the 2020 model year.
The third-generation LaCrosse is built at the following plants:
- GM Detroit Hamtramck factory operated by GM USA supplying North America
- Jinqiao South factory operated by Shanghai GM supplying China
In November 2018, General Motors announced that it will discontinue the Buick LaCrosse in the United States market, a move that will result in the idling of the Detroit-Hamtramck plant where it's built. The vehicle will remain available in China.
