2021 Chevrolet Trailblazer May Offer Ventilated Seats: Exclusive

The 2021 Chevrolet Trailblazer just debuted last month at the 2019 Los Angeles Auto Show. While Chevrolet has yet to provide all the details, we managed to find some convincing evidence that the new crossover may offer a rather uncommon feature for the segment – ventilated seats.

The evidence comes from an official press shot of the new Chevrolet Trailblazer’s interior, where the center console reveals what can only be a ventilated seat button. Check it out below:

Funny enough, General Motors has yet to announce ventilated seats for the new Chevrolet Trailblazer. That said, the availability of ventilated seats would be pretty big news, as it would make the new Trailblazer one of the very few subcompact crossovers to offer it. For example, the Jeep Compass offers ventilated seats, although it could be argued that the Compass is more of a C-segment entry that competes with the Chevrolet Equinox, rather than the Trailblazer.

It’s possible that vented seats will be reserved for an as-of-yet unannounced Premier trim level. We exclusively reported on the new Chevrolet Trailblazer’s trim level cadence earlier this week, which currently includes:

  • L
  • LS
  • LT
  • Activ
  • RS

A 2021 Chevrolet Trailblazer Premier with vented seats is certainly within reason. After all, the Chevrolet Trax offers a Premier trim level, while vented seats are offered on the Chevy Equinox Premier with the Confidence & Convenience II package, which also comes with a heated steering wheel, front passenger eight-way power adjustment with power lumbar, and heated rear outboard seats.

Another possibility is that the 2021 Chevrolet Trailblazer will offer vented seats as part of an as-of-yet unannounced package for the Activ trim level. After all, the picture at the top of this post comes from the Activ. However, we have yet to find further images of the trim that include the vented seats button.

Finally, it’s also worth mentioning that the picture may come from a pre-production model, and some of the features represented didn’t make it to production, although GM is not generally known for that kind of thing.

Regardless, we certainly hope vented seats make it to the 2021 Chevrolet Trailblazer in one form or another. For those customers living in warm climates, the feature is pretty much indispensable.

  1. I would be shocked if no Premier trim is announced soon. High trim levels are how automakers boost margins, why wouldn’t GM capitalize on that?

    2. I agree Davis. I don’t see the premier level trims or options in the United States models. I only see them in the South Korea models. I wonder what’s going on. Maybe they don’t want to compete with the GMC cars? I have contacted three dealers and GM twice about this. and all five times I have received nothing worth mentioning. I guess we will just have to wait and see.

  4. Ventilated seats are on the test drive models in Korea. You can see them in the latest Korean test drive videos from the press event. Why they aren’t showing that the trailblazer can have ventilated seats stateside anywhere is beyond me. What are you doing GM? You’re already losing sales this way??!! Show off the car in full!
