2020 Corvette C8 With Yellow Brakes: First Real-World Photos

Anyone looking to spec their 2020 Corvette C8 to the nines is in luck, as General Motors is offering an astounding number of personalization options, including no less than four different color options for the brake calipers. Now, we have our first look at the new Vette with its stoppers sporting a sharp shade of yellow.

The photos come to us from the 2020 Corvette C8’s Middle East regional debut at the 2019 Dubai International Motor Show in the United Arab Emirates. The yellow-painted brake caliper is an optional extra (RPO code J6E), and is set behind optional 19-inch-front, 20-inch-rear five-trident-spoke machine-faced Spectra Gray-painted aluminum wheels.

Set against the bright Torch Red paint and dark wheels, the big yellow calipers really pop out. In addition to the close-up image seen above, the new Vette Middle East debut also provided us with a series of gorgeous shots showing the mid-engine Chevrolet Corvette romping around some very scenic desert roads.

For reference, the other available 2020 Corvette brake caliper colors include (RPO code listed in parentheses):

  • Black-painted, standard (J6A)
  • Bright Red-painted, optional (J6F)
  • Edge Red-painted, optional (J6N)

Each optional brake caliper color adds $595 to the final price, while the optional five-trident Spectra Gray wheels are $1,495.

As for braking specs, the 2020 Corvette C8 comes with Brembo four-pot/two-piece calipers in front, and four-pot/monobloc calipers in back, plus the E-boost feature at each corner. The rotors are 12.6 inches by 1.18 inches (321 mm by 30 mm) in front, and 13.6 inches by 1.02 inches (339 mm by 26 mm) in back.

In addition to customized brake caliper colors, the 2020 Corvette is offered with customizable spoiler options, Coupe roof panel options, and exterior paint color options to boot.
