2020 Chevrolet Malibu Gets New Black Cherry Metallic Color: First Look

The 2020 Chevrolet Malibu features various minor changes and updates, including the addition of two new exterior colors: Stone Gray Metallic and Black Cherry Metallic. Here’s our first look at the new Black Cherry hue.

Availability

Assigned color code GLR and touch-up paint code WA-326E, Black Cherry Metallic is one of four dark hues available for the 2020 Chevrolet Malibu. It’s also one of two “black” color options available for the sedan.

The new Black Cherry Metallic color is included in the base price of the 2020 Malibu. In addition, the new black hue is not offered on the base L trim level, but can be matched with all the interior color combinations.

2020 Chevrolet Malibu Trim Levels:

  • L
  • LS
  • LT
  • RS
  • Premier

2020 Chevrolet Malibu Interior Color Combinations:

  • Dark Atmosphere with Medium Ash Gray
  • Jet Black
  • Dark Atmosphere with Light Wheat

It’s worth noting that the addition of the Black Cherry Metallic hue is a bit of a common theme for the 2020 model year, as a couple of other Chevrolet vehicles have adopted the color – including the 2020 Suburban as well as the 2020 Tahoe (see the Tahoe in Black Cherry Metallic).

Launch Timeframe

As of this writing, the 2020 Chevrolet Malibu can already be found at dealers, since the GM Fairfax plant in Kansas City has been assembling and shipping the 2020 model to dealers for the past few months. Models in the Black Cherry Metallic exterior color are already on dealer lots. Availability varies by dealer, so check with yours for complete details.
