General Motors is going dark with the GMC Terrain, offering the compact crossover utility vehicle (CUV) with the murdered-out 2019 GMC Terrain Black Edition package. Sporting a number of darkened exterior upgrades, the 2019 GMC Terrain Black Edition stands out from the crowd with a unique aesthetic that plays well to the crossover’s styling strengths.
The package starts with a darkened grille insert and black surround for the nose, which sits between the C-shaped headlamps to give the front fascia a sinister appearance. The GMC badge in the middle of the insert remains red.
The look is particularly effective at dusk with the headlamps activated, creating an effective light/dark contrast.
Moving over the profile, we find the 2019 GMC Terrain Black Edition rocking big 19-inch gloss black aluminum wheels with a split-five-spoke design. The wheels are housed under chunky, angular fender lines, and lend the crossover an extra dose of SUV attitude.
The wheels also come with black GMC center caps and black GMC lettering.
Further upgrades include black mirror caps and black roof rails, which work into the floating roof design to give it a more cohesive appearance overall. Pair the package with one of the non-black paint hues, and the black trim bits become even more obvious.
Final touches for the 2019 GMC Terrain Black Edition include black finishes for the model and trim badges.
The 2019 GMC Terrain Black Edition is offered on the midrange SLE (3SA) and SLT (4SA) trim levels, and can be paired with five different exterior colors, including:
- Ebony Twilight Metallic
- Summit White
- Graphite Gray Metallic
- Satin Steel Metallic
- Sedona Metallic
Naturally, we think Ebony Twilight Metallic is the perfect fit for this package.
Pricing for the Black Edition Package is set at $995.

i’ll be glad when this murder out/black out look is gone. I can deal with black rims but everything black out looks boring. In my opinion all vehicles like this look old and outdated. I’m glad interior colors are finally starting to expand from gray and black also.
When oh when is this ugly all black nonsense going to end? So sick of it.
… I don’t mind the all black or black and white look. It’s the SCHWINN-THIN bicycle
ghetto tires that I’ve had enough of …
