When the 2020 Corvette Stingray debuted earlier this year, General Motors already had an advanced online 3D configurator ready to go, allowing prospective buyers to customize their own version of the mid-engine sports car. This 3D configurator tool helped generate interest in the next-generation Corvette and directed a huge amount of traffic to Chevrolet‘s website, with the automaker having to call on Amazon Web Services to double its server capacity to support the sudden influx of users.
Now the automaker has launched the configurator for the 2020 Corvette Convertible – though the coupe remains the only model variant included in the fancy 3D configurator. That’s just fine, though, as the standard configurator allows the user to apply all the same options and helps them visualize what their dream 2020 Corvette Convertible might look like. It also provides a full pricing breakdown of the car and its various options, so anyone curious about what their ideal Corvette Convertible might cost will definitely want to give the online tool a whirl.
Our example car pictured here is a 3LT trim model with Velocity Yellow exterior paint, an Adrenaline Red and Black two-tone interior and the Z51 Performance Package. It also features the optional carbon flash five-spoke wheels, carbon fiber ground effects kit, carbon fiber intake inserts, carbon fiber exterior mirrors, competition bucket seats, carbon fiber interior trim, red contrasting interior stitching and Torch Red seatbelts. It rings in at $99,655 including the $1,095 destination fee.
The 2020 Corvette Convertible is powered by the same 6.2-liter LT2 V8 engine as the coupe, which is good for 495 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque with the optional Performance Exhaust. Setting it apart from the standard Corvette is the two-piece foldable hardtop roof, which can be activated at speeds up to 30 mph and fully retracts in just 16 seconds.
