With the holiday season quickly approaching, automakers are beginning to roll out Christmas-themed ads and promotions to celebrate the season’s giving spirit.
General Motors is no exception, releasing a new ad promoting the 2020 GMC Sierra entitled “Puppy.” In it, a couple is pictured walking through a snowy forest of pine trees when the man reveals he has a surprise for the woman and whistles, calling over a Bernese Mountain Dog puppy. The woman then reveals that she has her own surprise ready, whistling and calling over her gift for her significant other: a new GMC Sierra AT4. As the woman fawns over her new puppy, she leaves the man to get acquainted with his new pickup, with the camera zooming out to show him hugging the vehicle’s front end.
The ad also briefly shows off the optional Kicker Audio-equipped MultiPro tailgate available for the GMC Sierra. This audio system is designed to enhance Sierra owners’ tailgating experience by integrating a full Kicker sound system and control panel into the Sierra’s tailgate and bed. The system operates independently of the Sierra’s infotainment system and allows the user to play audio outside of the vehicle without leaving their key in the ignition and their windows down. It is comprised of a weatherproof amplifier, speakers and buttons while featuring auxiliary, Bluetooth and USB inputs. It automatically turns on when the MultiPro Tailgate is brought to its full-width step position, as the woman in the ad has it when she is sitting on the bed of the truck.
