Custom Chevrolet C-10 Camper Dubbed ‘Brown Sugar’ Debuts At SEMA

The hot rodders at River City Rods have debuted their custom build for the 2019 SEMA Show and have decided to break away from their usual truck and SUV builds—this time focusing their talent and expertise on a Chevrolet C-10 R/V.
This creation has been dubbed ‘Brown Sugar’ by the Davenport, Iowa-based shop, with the truck carrying a 1970s inspired brown, orange and yellow theme both inside and out. The camper started out life as a Chevrolet C-10 R/V, with the shop then adding a long rear box to the C-10 cab and placing a new, custom camper in the bed. Custom alloy wheels, painted front and rear bumpers and painted mirror caps round out most of the exterior modifications. Oh yeah, don’t forget the retro exterior graphics, either, which originate on the hood and extend all the way back to the rear bumper.
Things get really crazy inside the camper, where River City Rods has applied custom wood trim basically everywhere. Two Kicker subwoofers hide in a pair of whisky barrels and are joined by a TV that flips upward from the floor/cabin access area. We also spot a sink made from what looks to be an old Coca-Cola fridge, along with a fridge and a microwave. This seems more like a “party” camper than something you’d actually take to a campsite for a weekend—making it perfect to spending a day tailgating at the football game, or taking to a motor race. There is still some sleep space above the cabin, though, so taking it camping isn’t completely outside of the realm of possibility. Just watch the truck’s low floor on the gravel roads!
Brown Sugar is one of many, many interesting Chevrolet builds that will be at SEMA 2019 this week, so stay tuned for more coverage from the show.
