The 2021 Chevrolet Silverado HD Carhartt Edition has made its official debut ahead of the SEMA Show in Las Vegas, which kicks off this Tuesday.
General Motors is putting the Silverado HD Carhartt Edition into production after receiving a positive response to its 2017 Silverado Carhartt Edition concept vehicle, which was first shown at the 2016 SEMA Show.
Built around a Silverado 2500HD LTZ Crew Cab with the optional Z71 Off-Road Package, the Silverado HD Carhartt Edition is offered exclusively in Mosaic Black Metallic with Carhartt gold pinstripe detailing, Carhartt door and tailgate badging and a soft rollup tonneau cover with a Carhartt logo. Other standard exterior items include black hood vent detailing, tow hooks, chrome grille surround and inserts as well as body-color front and rear bumpers.
Inside, the truck is set apart by its Carhartt-badged all-weather floor mats, exclusive two-tone Jet Black and Carhartt Brown leather seats as well as Carhartt embroidered headrests.
Chevrolet decided to team up with Carhartt for a limited-edition Silverado as the Dearborn, Michigan-based brand is a staple in the workwear scene and on almost all American construction sites. The family-owned and managed company develops tough, rugged workwear for both on and off the jobsite and has been in business since 1889.
“When the concept vehicle was shown, consumer response exceeded even our highest expectations,” Chevrolet’s U.S. vice president, Brian Sweeney, said in a prepared statement. “Listening to the enthusiastic feedback of show-goers and trucks enthusiasts led to the development of the production truck that customers have been clamoring for.”
The production Chevrolet Silverado HD Carhartt Special Edition will be on display at the 2019 SEMA Show this week and it is set to go on sale at Chevrolet dealerships in the fall of 2020.
Back in July, Chevrolet announced that it had entered a strategic partnership with Carhartt that would result in special-edition products and would make the apparel company the “Official Workwear of Chevy Trucks,” while “Chevy Trucks will be the Official Partner of Carhartt.”

Great looking truck, inside and out ! perfomance options be an idea.
Anybody no the numbers for this truck is it selling at all I have only 1 on the road since they came out
Have to pick up an automotive journalist gig to afford this bad boy.
The thin stripe looks weak on a truck like this and why not some tough Carhartt material for the seat covers?
They do offer Carhartt seat covers as an accessory, at least for the K2XX trucks, sold a couple sets, they are quite nice!
Holy Cow! That is good looking!!!
Too bad it is only available in black. While it looks stunning clean, it will stay that way about 2 minutes on any job site that I am on. I really like the seats. I was on a job site yesterday with two other contractors, both of them were driving new 2020 HD Duramax Chevys. I felt like I was slumming it in my 18 HD Duramax. They are selling the new HD trucks around here. However the strike has really killed sales. The local Chevy ran out of 2020 HDs and 19 HDs during the strike. Hard to sell HD pickups when all you have on the lot is gas half tons.
Didn’t they miss the opportunity to use Carhartt on the interior? I LOVE the exterior but the interior feels a little phoned in…again.
so its a badge package, yawn.
Howabout some toughening upgrades like skid plates, maybe reinforced side panels, a rear window protector?
Whatabout custom fit seat covers made out of carhartt duck material?
I don’t see anything here more than a few badges and pinstripes.
All I can say that the facade hides mechanical and electrical problems that exist in the 2019/2020 GMC Sierra.
I own one that no dealer has been able to get right. Between ProTail Gate malfunctions, rear camera not working intermittently, rear view mirrors that jump when moving, complete engine computer communication errors and more. I think GM needs to learn how to incorporate technology and have it working right before putting lipstick on a pig.
My truck has been waiting for cures over 5 months. Since new it has had these problems.
Even the service manager has said ..” GM builds them and we try to fix them but GM does not have a handle on the technology and we don’t know what to do.”
selling Girl Scout cookies, building a Go-Fund-Me page and Ebay’ing out my left lung, I STILL won’t be
able to afford this $68,000 rolling Carhart advertisement.
If you’re going to make a pick up truck that has a blue collar Working class flare make it a blue-collar working class truck one the workmen can afford. Put a toolbox across the back,a rack for long material, a tow package and air conditioning .And make it affordable! Not all yuppied out!
It is a rolling advertisement for Carhart , but so was Ford’s Eddie Bauer editions, Harley Davidson editions and so forth. AEV gets some advertising love for their part in the ZR2 Bison. This is really pretty subdued, they could have really made it gawdy, so I praise their avoiding that pitfall. I agree that GM could have used this opportunity to offer more “work ready” upgrades for the money. Tool boxes and bed slides would also be some options to add. A higher output converter with plugs in the bed would have been good. I like having the factory inverter, but it is too small to be a huge help on the job site. As for the 68K price, they are all expensive, they have a lot of towing capability if you are in a position to take advantage of it.
