Hertz Renews NASCAR Partnership With Hendrick Motorsports

Hertz has renewed its partnership with Hendrick Motorsports and driver of the No. 24 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1, William Byron.

The American vehicle rental agency will serve as the main sponsor of the No. 24 Camaro for four NASCAR Cup Series races in 2020 and will return as an associate partner for the entire season.

The yellow and black Hertz livery will appear on the No. 24 at Auto Club Speedway and ISM Raceway in March 2020 along with the October 2020 playoff races at Talladega Superspeedway and Kansas Speedway. The company first joined forces with the team in May of 2018 and quickly leveraged the partnership to produce the Hertz-Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet Camaro rental cars, which serve as a tribute to the No. 24 NASCAR Camaro and are available for rent to Hertz customers.

As we reported last year, the Hertz-Hendrick Motorsports Camaros are offered in both ZL1 and SS guise. The ZL1 version is packing General Motors’ supercharged 6.2-liter LT4 V8 small-block engine , but it gets a 100-horsepower bump over the standard model’s 650 horsepower thanks to an upgraded Callaway blower. The Hertz Camaro SS, meanwhile, offers up 480 horsepower from its naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 small-block LT1 engine, a 25-horsepower increase over the standard model’s 455 horsepower. This is made possible with a new intake and cat-back exhaust system.

“We’re thrilled to see our partnership with Hertz continue,” said Hendrick Motorsports owner, Rick Hendrick. “From offering a special line of Camaros to rewarding high-performing employees with NASCAR experiences, Hertz has done a wonderful job with the program. In only his second year, William has shown he can run up front on any type of racetrack. The future of the No. 24 team is very bright, and we look forward to sharing that future with everyone at Hertz.”

“I’m really excited to continue building on our relationship with Hertz,” added Byron. “They came on board the No. 24 during my rookie season and have continued their awesome support as we’ve grown as a team. We’ve done a lot in a short amount of time, but there’s so much more to accomplish. I can’t wait to put the new No. 24 Hertz paint scheme on the racetrack and see what else we can do together.”

In the 32 NASCAR Cup Series races held so far this year, Byron has managed five pole positions (tying him for the series lead with veteran Kevin Harvick) and scored four top-five finishes, twelve top-10s and led 225 laps.

Deliveries of the Hertz-Hendrick Camaro begin this month, with a total of 224 examples heading to Hertz rental locations all across the country.
