GM Canada sales decreased 8 percent to 70,706 units during the third quarter of 2019. Sales increased at Cadillac while decreasing at Buick, Chevrolet, and GMC.

GM Canada Sales Notes – Q3 2019

“We’re continuing to build momentum on the products customers want,” said Sandor Piszar, the recently-appointed vice president of sales, service and marketing at GM Canada. “With innovative new vehicles on the horizon and the design, technology and functionality available today across our entire product portfolio, we’re poised for success in a shifting consumer landscape.”

According to the Top 10 August 2019 report by DesRosiers Automotive Consultants, passenger car sales continue to decline year-to-date across the industry while pickups, subcompact, compact luxury and compact SUVs gain traction. To that end, GM claims that it has one of the strongest and newest product lineups in the industry to align with this shift in consumer preference with several new products coming in 2019 and 2020 including the all-new Chevrolet Trailblazer, Buick Encore GX, Cadillac CT4 and Cadillac XT6.

GM Canada sales decreased 12.2 percent to 203,609 units in the first nine months of 2019.

  1. Those Equinox numbers declining that much is not good in a compact crossover booming market.

  2. GM is the big bad guy now in US/Can, next year should be a better barometer as the union contacts are ratified and which plants and products remain. Buick seems ok the Regal/Commodore issue is interesting as Canadians don’t like SUVs as much as we do, hopefully it stays in production..
