The GM Authority Take

Chevrolet Mexico sales declined in September, marking the eighth consecutive month of decreases in sales volume. Chevy’s negative commercial performance in the market is in line with the general automotive industry in the country, whose sales have declined during the past 30 months due to a considerable contraction demand for automobiles. Consequently, the year-to-date sales during the first nine months of 2019 are also lower than those during the same period of 2018.

Chevrolet Cavalier

An overwhelming majority of models in the Chevrolet lineup registered negative figures in September, with two and three-digit drops for all models except the Chevrolet Aveo, whose 7-percent decline represented the smallest decrease in sales volume. Only five Chevrolet vehicles saw sales growth last month, including: Beat, Bolt EV, Cavalier, Equinox and Silverado.

The Chevrolet Silverado and Cavalier saw the biggest growth rate, with the former seeing its second monthly increase in the Mexican market since its launch.
