Chevrolet Discounts Malibu By $4,000 In October 2019

Chevrolet Malibu sales increased 5 percent to 32,432 units during the third quarter of 2019. The rebound in sales is welcome news following the 18-percent decline in the second quarter of 2019, which we attributed to competitiveness issues as well as changing consumer purchase dynamics that have shoppers favoring crossovers, SUVs, and trucks over sedans. Now, a new Chevrolet discount reduces the price of select Malibu models by $4,000 during the month of October.

The Incentive

Nationwide Chevrolet discount offers on the Malibu for October 2019 are as follows:

  • 2019 Malibu: $4,000 total cash allowance on most models when financing with GM Financial
  • 2019 Malibu: $1,250 Customer Cash + $2,000 Purchase Bonus Cash = $3,250 total cash allowance
    • Excludes L models
    • This Chevrolet discount does not require financing through GM Financial
  • 2019 Malibu finance offer: $500 APR Cash + 0 percent APR for 72 months (interest-free) when financing with GM Financial
    • Excludes L models
  • 2020 Malibu: $1,250 Customer Cash
    • Excludes L models

All of the above Chevrolet discount offers for the Malibu sedan are valid through October 31st.

For reference, here are the starting MSRPs for 2019 and 2020 Malibu models, destination freight charge included:

  • L – $22,965

About Chevrolet Malibu

The Chevrolet Malibu is a mid-size sedan sold in most markets where Chevrolet has a business presence. It is currently Chevrolet's second-largest sedan, in the U.S. and Canada, slotting above the subcompact Chevrolet Sonic and compact Chevrolet Cruze but under the full-size Chevrolet Impala.

The current, ninth-generation model was introduced in 2016. It rides on the GM E2 platform shared with the Buick Regal, Opel/Vauxhall Insignia, Holden Commodore NG, and the Cadillac XT4.

For 2019 - the fourth model year of the ninth-gen model - the Malibu received a midcycle enhancement, otherwise known as a facelift or refresh, that consists of revised exterior styling, a new Malibu RS trim level, a CVT transmission for L, LS, LT and RS models, a new infotainment system, a new 8-inch reconfigurable driver information center (DIC), LED headlamps on the Premier model, and various other new features.

  1. That center console looks awful. Has not aged well, never was that great from the getgo. Front end looks squished. No wonder you don’t see these things anywhere.

Oh, and people want cars still, just not ugly ones. Or under powered ones. Or ones where the 1.4T implodes in 30K miles (Piston revisions supposedly stopped this for 2018 engines). Or ones with cheap materials which is basically the entire GM line up. People don’t favor SUVs, they just avoid lousy GM cars.

    1. @Duh Get out with your ridiculous nonsense. Are you blind man? I bet u never driven this car or ever owned one. I currently own one and I love it. So do me a favor if you don’t like a certain car or brand, don’t comment your crap hating on it.

  2. I agree with some of your statements but I think the styling is pretty nice if bloated. It’s nearly as big as an Impala now. I am also disgusted with the powertrains. I cannot stand CVTs and am NOT interested in any 4 cylinder engine in a car of this size. Give me that LFX and 6 or 8 speed auto. GM has come to be a company that builds cars they want to built instead of a company that build cars you want to buy.

  3. Don’t fall for this! They are discounting cars because the Chevy Malibu’s are all faulty! They are bad cars!
