Cadillac CT6 Discount Cuts Price By $4,000 In October 2019

Cadillac CT6 sales decreased almost 32 percent to 1,625 units during the third quarter of 2019. The continued decline in sales is not surprising considering the ongoing shift in market dynamics that swings in favor of crossovers, SUVs and pickups over sedans. And now, in what could be a way to boost sales volume in the highly-competitive large luxury sedan segment, a new Cadillac CT6 discount reduces the price of select 2019 models by as much as $4,000.
Compared to the discount in August, which was just $2,500 and exclusive to eligible Cadillac owners and lessees, this incentive is offered to everyone while also being more generous. We should also point out that the headline-making Cadillac discount matches the $4,000 incentive in February as well as the rebate offered in September. Additionally, Cadillac is still offering special financing for the CT6 in October 2019, but it is now a low-interest offer instead of being entirely interest-free.
Incentives
The Cadillac CT6 discounts for October 2019 are as follows:
- Combined Offer: 0.9 percent APR for 72 months when financing with GM Financial (excludes CT6-V)
- Finance Offer: $2,500 purchase allowance for current Cadillac owners or lessees with GM Financial
- Lease Offer: $1,000 toward the lease of a new CT6 for current GM lessees with GM Financial
- Purchase Offer: $4,000 total cash allowance for everyone (excludes CT6-V)
For reference, here are the 2019 CT6 trim levels and their corresponding starting MSRPs, destination charge included:
- Luxury – $51,490
- Premium Luxury – $59,090
- Sport – $67,590
- Platinum – $87,790
Interested parties should note that only current Cadillac owners and lessees can receive the $2,500 Cadillac CT6 discount, while everyone else is offered the $4,000 cashback offer. Additionally, Cadillac explicitly states that the larger discount and special interest offer do not apply to the low-production V-Series model.
The $4,000 Cadillac CT6 discount lowers the starting price of a 2019 Luxury model to a more modest $47,490, while the starting price of the Platinum model falls to $83,790.

About Cadillac CT6
The Cadillac CT6 is a full-size prestige luxury sedan. It slots above the mid-size Cadillac CTS and compact Cadillac ATS as the largest Cadillac sedan. The vehicle rides on the high-tech and lightweight GM Omega platform that is currently not shared with any other vehicles, though a full-size Cadillac crossover on the architecture has been rumored.
The current model was introduced for the 2016 model year and represents the first model year of the first-generation CT6. The 2017 model year saw a few minor changes, including the addition of two new exterior colors and darker finish taillamps. The 2018 CT6 introduced such features as Super Cruise, Rear Camera Mirror Washer for the Rear Camera Mirror, as well as an updated CUE infotainment system (to version 2.6).
For the 2019 model year, the CT6 receives a refresh, otherwise known as a facelift or mid-cycle enhancement (MCE, that includes revised exterior styling similar to that of the Escala concept, a new high-performance CT6 V-Sport model that was renamed to CT6-V, the new Cadillac 4.2L Twin-Turbo V-8 engine, a new trim level structure, and improvements to in-vehicle technology. In addition, the 2019 Cadillac CT6 gets the new GM 10-speed automatic transmission on all models, while the base model gets a new base engine in the form of the all-new 2.0L Turbo LSY engine, which replaces the last-generation 2.0L Turbo LTG.
The Cadillac CT6 is build at the following plants:
- GM Detroit-Hamtramck plant supplying North America and Middle East, and
- Cadillac China factory called SGM Jinqiao supplying China and Russia
In addition, the CT6 Plug-In model was built at the SGM Jinqiao plant for all markets, including the United States. The CT6 Plug-In was discontinued in the U.S. after the 2018 model year.
In November 2018, GM announced plans to discontinue the CT6 in North America as part of a restructuring plan that will look to shutter various plants, including the Detroit-Hamtramck location. But in January 2019, Cadillac president, Steve Carlisle, and GM president, Mark Reuss, announced that the CT6 will not be discontinued. However, production will be moved from the Detroit-Hamtramck facility to another plant. Another possibility is that the CT6 will be imported from China, where it will continue being offered. However, Carlisle stated that this is the least desirable option.
