Cadillac CT5 Orange Color Will Be Available Later This Year

Last week, we published a post detailing the different exterior colors that will be offered on the 2020 Cadillac CT5, which included a number of interesting hues including Evergreen Metallic, Velocity Red and Wave Metallic. We have to hand it to General Motors for deciding to offer the Cadillac CT5 in a good variety of interesting exterior colors, as many luxury brands’ palettes typically consist of various shades of black, grey, white, and dark blue, for example.

The only color that you won’t be able to order on the Cadillac CT5 from launch, unfortunately, is Royal Spice Metallic. The vibrant orange hue, which debuted on the 2020 Cadillac CT5-V, will be available later on in 2019, though, so prospective buyers won’t have to wait very long before they can order it.

“The color is called Royal Spice Metallic,” Cadillac spokesperson Tara Kuhnen told our sister publication, Cadillac Society. “The reason you’re not seeing it is because it’s a limited-production color that will be offered for ordering later this year. Once orders open it should appear on the configurator.”

Kuhnen did not provide any details on the “limited” nature of Royal Spice Metallic. It’s therefore not clear if GM only plans to produce a certain number of Cadillac CT5 examples finished in the color, or if it will only be available to order for a short amount of time.

As our previous post indicated, the Cadillac CT5 will be available in twelve exterior colors for 2020, comprised of seven metallic and two pearlescent options. Here’s a full rundown of the color options:

  • Crystal White Tricoat
  • Velocity Red
  • Red Obsession Tintcoat
  • Satin Steel Metallic
  • Summit White
  • Black Raven
  • Evergreen Metallic
  • Shadow Metallic
  • Wave Metallic
  • Garnet Metallic
  • Dark Moon Metallic
  • Royal Spice Metallic

Apart from Summit White and Black Raven, all of the colors listed above will be extra-cost colors. Availability of the colors also varies between the different CT5 trim levels, which include Luxury, Premium Luxury, Sport, and CT5-V. For example, the no-cost Summit White shade is available for all models except the CT5-V, while Velocity Red can only be had on Sport and CT5-V models.

The 2020 Cadillac CT5 will start at $37,890 for the entry-level Luxury model, with the Premium Luxury trim starting at $41,690 and the Sport trim starting at $42,690. Pricing for the performance-focused Cadillac CT5-V model is not yet available. The vehicle will go on sale in the U.S. shortly before launching in Canada and China in late 2019.

  1. This is not an ugly car. But that C-pillar is truly a letdown. Especially since Honda showed it could be done better.
