October is truck month at American Chevrolet dealerships. General Motors is looking to offload some of its 2019 stock and give itself a small boost in pickup sales, even if the UAW strike threatens to put a major damper on its ever-important pickup truck business. During Truck Month, Chevrolet dealers are offering discounts of up to $9,510 (or no payments for 90 days) on the Silverado 1500 and $11,466 off the Silverado 2500 HD.
But what if cash on the hood, or delayed payment period, isn’t enough to get you into a truck? If you’re a hunter, you may be interested in the somewhat comical promotion that Ashdown, Arkansas-based dealer Greg Orr Extreme Chevrolet currently has running.
Greg Orr Extreme Chevrolet is offering customers a free shotgun with every vehicle purchase. The specifics of the promotion aren’t entirely clear (we’re not sure what type of shotgun the dealership is offering up), but if you live in the area and want to know more, we’re sure the dealership would be happy to give you some more information on the deal. It also seems as though the promotion is valid for buyers of both new Chevrolet vehicles and used vehicles of all types.
A video posted to the dealership’s Facebook page shows some of the dealership employees talking about the various promotions going on at the dealership whilst holding shotguns, which we can view at this link. Feel free to check it out (if you don’t live close by, it’s good for a chuckle thanks to the various hunting puns) and happy hunting season to those readers who it may apply to!

You know your customer service is garbage when you result to cheesy tired ol’ tricks to sell your product. First rule of buying a car if the dealer is pushing some freebie outside of cash towards your purchase they are dirty scumbags.
I agree on the premise that if a dealer if pushing gimmicks you’re not going to get the best price, well executed gimmicks do indeed work…Is this well executed? I would bet that it isn’t as hunters would already have the shotgun of their choice and that the model the dealership is offering isn’t a good model…But it also looks like they’re trying to project they’re all hunters and if you can come in and talk hunting/guns with them so who knows, perhaps this could bring an extra dozen to the dealership who wouldn’t have come by otherwise…
You’re not very smart. It’s okay. I’ll have fries with that please…
In rural areas hunters and trucks go hand in hand.
If two dealers are offering the same deal the one giving a free gun may mak e the deal.
These smaller dealers have less discount and hold back money so freebies often are a deal maker in smaller towns.
Gun raffles are also big draws too.
In America, this is completely normal. To the rest of the world, this is just messed up and proves America will never fix their gun problem.
It is actually a people problem not a gun problem.
People have lost the respect for life.
It is a gun problem too. Japan has a democracy, yet with so strong gun controls that they get less than 100 gun murder a year.
Look at Japanese culture also, it’s not “everyone for themselves!” and “I love blood!” like the good ol USA. Canada with similar gun-per-capita to the US but less murder-by-gun, per-capita. As for animals, serve me some veal!.. Yes proper hunt-control and endangered species laws need to be more prominent but if you in the middle of Texas with wild boar looking to chase you to your death don’t think it’s worry about your right to live…
Um no. Canada has nowhere near the same level of guns per capita, nor are we gun loving maniacs. Nice try though.

Fix your gun issue.
The people of Japan are much different culturally. They still have a strong family core and still show a lot of respect to each other.
A gun never committed Murder but the person holding it did.
The harsh reality is the culture of our country is the problem. The family is almost unheard of in many areas as everyone just wants to do as they please. No respect is taught very often.
If someone here lacks a gun they will use other means. Look at the guy in VA that drove the car through the crowd. A Dodge Challenger can be even more deadly than a gun.
The gun banning UK now wants to ban pointy knives. Apparently banning guns wasn’t the solution.
Banning shotguns, or handguns, in Arkansas, as an example, will do absolutely nothing to stop hand gun crime in places like Chicago.
People’s attitudes to one another have to change.
Arkansas us a truly pathetic state. One of the few that permit their citizens to openly carry a loaded firearm in public spaces.
Or can get shot by a crook with an illegal gun in a “we’ll protect you” Democratic region…
So if you have a problem with the dealer, you are allowed to shot him with that shotgun??
I am a U.S. born Citizen but I am against all personal guns, even for hunting (animals deserve to live, too!). The Second Amendment has been erroneous explained, since it clearly covers arms for a Militia (military and security only), not for personal use. Read it word by word!
So if the dealer get shot with the gun he gives away, he deserves it!!
Exodus 20:13.
People are the problem, not guns, or knifes, dynamite, vehicles, airplanes, hammers, etc., etc., etc.
Animals?
Genesis 9:1-7. Also covers more about killing each other.
Amen
The evil is within man.
No matter if you believe in God or not the rules set down by the Ten Commandments would solve most of what hurts the human race. Yet we ban them.
Wow you haven’t read many history books. Only mother nature has killed more people than religion. Man has been killing one another over some fictitious character since we moved out of caves.
The fact is religious kindness and charity has also save more lives than any country or person.
Often many distort religion to fit their actions not in the name of God but their own interest.
By the way more have died because of their religion and for their God at the hand of those who are not religious. Ever hear of the Holocaust?
“Ever hear of the Holocaust?”
Hitler was baptized Catholic.
Furthermore, if you really meant to invoke Stalin, who did indeed kill many millions in the name of his political ideology, then you may have difficulty explaining why he didn’t dismantle the Russian Orthodox Church which survived his reign intact.
“The Führer is deeply religious, though completely anti-Christian. He views Christianity as a symptom of decay. ”
Goebbels Diaries, 29 December 1939
Hitler needed the Catholic Church to get into power. And please don’t think Christianity allow a “high IQ” atheist like Stalin to kill millions of his own people..
Please don’t confuse God with religion. God is the one truth out there. As for religions they vary and are mans interpretation of God.
Some do it right and keep to the intent of God while others make religion their own tool for their own deeds.
The bottom line is more people are doing good than bad.
Religions are like Guns. They can be used for good or evil and it depends on the person using it as to how good or bad.
There are more good than bad but people need to use good judgment with any group they join or follow. You can not follow God blindly.
The 10 commandments only apply to Christians as guiding principles. It cannot be codified into law, and you cannot use any religious doctrine to govern a nation. The Americans call it the separation of church and state. I know it as secularism.
If you, like me, wouldn’t allow an Islamic declaration of faith to hang over you in public life and dictate your affairs, then it follows that you shouldn’t mandate that a Christian declaration of faith to hang over others in their public life and dictate their affairs.
Actually our country was founded by Christians of varying faiths and many of our laws are based on the Ten Commandments. They left out the parts on what God to serve etc. but the parts not killing, stealing etc can apply to anyone.
The point is if we just followed the basics like these and keep the family core strong you would not have the mess with gangs and kids growing up with out parents.
Everyone wants to blame the weapon not the brain controlling it.
Years ago before guns people just beat each other to death so they will just go back to the basics.
“Actually our country was founded by Christians of varying faiths and many of our laws are based on the Ten Commandments. ”
Apart from the 5th and 7th commandment, of which pre-Christian legal codes had provisions for and therefore isn’t unique to the foundation of the US, what part of the US legal code was founded on the basis of the 3rd commandment? Where is it expressly forbidden within US federal law for someone to work on Sundays? Where is the provision in US law that observes the 1st commandment where you can only believe in one god?
The point I’m making is that the legal code of the US is far more complex and involved that what any holy book can lay claim to govern over. There is no a single passage in the korran or the bible that dictates how international trade of building material must be conducted with observance to god, but there most certainly are passages that tells you to distrust and stone your disobedient child.
Q – 64:14-15
Deuteronomy 21:18-21 KJV
Finally, if the USA was indeed a Christian nation instead of a nation with Christians, then how do you explain the Treaty of Tripoli?
“the Government of the United States of America is not, in any sense, founded on the Christian religion.”
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Treaty_of_Tripoli
Keep religion at arms length. Religion lied to me once, and I will never let it lie to me again.
Religion lied to you not God.
Religion is of man and can vary in its presentation but God is a constant.
Religions are like cars. Some good some bad and you have to go into them with your eyes open. Too often some who claim to be representing God just represent themselves.
Too often people put religious leaders before God not God before the leaders.
I will be the first to say some religions are not worth spit but that does not apply to all.
One key is to know God teachings yourself and not rely on others to interpret them to you.
Like cars the better you know them then you don’t have to rely on bias reviews from a Moto Trend.
The US founding fathers thought otherwise. They based their new republic on biblical principles, but were wise enough to not force any religion on anybody, hanging it over your head, remember, we used to call that freedom. We now suffer because the supreme court got their interpretation wrong.
The bible is not just guiding principles, you either believe it as God’s word, or you don’t.
Yes, they can be codified into law.
I respectfully submit that Mr Orr put the barrels of his shotguns where the sun doesn’t shine and pull the trigger. Then he and his kind can free the earth of their bigotry and hatred.
Sure, bend over and show Mr. Orr where the sun doesn’t shine.
Religion is one of the major topics NEVER to be brought up in public. It has been the root of too many wars and disputes. Thousands of years of fighting and no resolution in sight.
As for a car dealer sweetening the pie by handing out guns. Shoot Him! It would be much smarter to offer an extended warranty.
