The GMC Sierra charged into an all-new fourth generation for the 2019 model year, followed by a few minor changes and updates for the 2020 model year. And now, GMC is gearing up to introduce a new package option for the 2020 GMC Sierra Elevation trim level, dubbed the Black Package.
The new Black Package for the 2020 GMC Sierra Elevation is tagged with the RPO code PDF, and includes the following content (RPO code for each part is listed in parenthesis):
- Six-inch black rectangular assist steps (RVQ)
- All-weather floor liner (RIA)
- Black GMC emblems (SFZ)
The new Black Package is an LPO-level, dealer-installed option, and is only available on the Elevation trim level for the 2020 GMC Sierra. The package is not available with the GMC Interior Protection Package (PDH), Assist Step and Tonneau Package (PCW), or any other assist step option offered.

For reference, the 2020 GMC Sierra is the second model year for the all-new fourth-generation Sierra 150. Compared to the third-gen model, the fourth-generation model offers a longer wheelbase and more interior space, along with the new MultiPro Tailgate, the GMC-exclusive CarbonPro carbon-fiber cargo box, and a curb weight that’s up to 360 pounds lighter than its predecessor.
Meanwhile, the Elevation trim level is offered in Double Cab or Crew Cab configurations with either 2WD and 4WD. The trim features monochromatic door handles, bumpers, and grille surround, plus black exterior accents for the grille insert, tow hooks, and side window trim. Standard spec includes 20-inch black gloss painted aluminum wheels.

All told, we think the new Black Package will definitely help to complement the look established by the Elevation trim level.
