The all-new 2020 Corvette C8 just made a cameo appearance at one of the most famous driving roads in the U.S., with no less than four examples of the new mid-engine sports car showing up at the Tail of the Dragon in North Carolina.
For those who may be unaware, the Tail of Dragon is the nickname given to a stretch of US 129 that connects North Carolina and Tennessee. Also known as Deals Gap, the pass runs through the Great Smokey Mountains and boasts more than 300 corners in just 11 miles, all without any driveways or intersecting roads along the way, making it an ideal location for enthusiasts to have a little fun.
It’s the perfect location to drive the new 2020 Corvette, so it’s no surprise to find this quartet of mid-engined machines slinging their way through the winding two-lane.
The crew was posted to social media with pictures of the cars parked on the side of the road at the top of the mountain and at a nearby parking lot, giving us a nice lineup of Chevrolet Corvette goodness. There’s also a video of the four 2020 Corvettes rolling out, which makes for a nice sound as they get the hammer down.
The posts also provide a look at part of the 2020 Corvette color palette, with four different hues on display, including:
- Rapid Blue
- Arctic White
- Long Beach Red Metallic Tintcoat
- Torch Red
No doubt about it, the 2020 Corvette’s new mid-engine platform should make for the ideal dance partner on those twisting mountain roads. Throw in the soundtrack of the naturally aspirated 6.2L LT2 V8 just behind the cabin, and well, we can’t help but be at least a little jealous.
