GMC Rebate Cuts Sierra HD Price By 13 Percent In September 2019

Overall GMC Sierra sales decreased 4 percent to 56,857 units in the second quarter of 2019. Of those, Sierra HD sales fell 3 percent to 13,946 units. The declines are to be expected given that the all-new 2019 Sierra 1500 model was still undergoing launch during the second quarter of 2019, while the all-new heavy-duty model was still in route to dealers.

And now, in what seems to be an effort to move the outgoing-generation (2019 model year) of the heavy-duty pickup, a new GMC rebate reduces the price of select Sierra HD models by 13 percent in September 2019, with total discounts sometimes equating to over $9,000 in some cases. It’s worth noting that the offer is similar to the discount available in August, and more lucrative than the 10 percent discount offer in July.

The Incentive

GMC provides the following example of its 13 percent discount incentive on the 2019 Sierra 2500HD Denali 4WD Crew Cab equipped with the Duramax Plus Package:

  • $4,721 price reduction + a purchase allowance of $4,654 = $9,375 total off the MSRP for current GM owners and lessees who finances with GM Financial.

It appears that this specific GMC rebate is only available to current GM owners and lessees. Additionally, it appears that the discount is only applicable to 2019 Denali 4WD Crew Cab models equipped with the Duramax package.

As such, the GMC Sierra HD discount reduces the price of the model in the example from $72,115 to $62,740.

Meanwhile, the all-new 2020 GMC Sierra HD is currently beginning to launch, and no discounts or rebates are available for it.
