Chevrolet Performance Helping To Host GM Fest In Sacramento

Chevrolet Performance, along with a number of other local Northern California partners, will host an all-General Motors event at Sacramento Raceway this month called GM Fest.
GM Fest will feature drag racing for multiple classes of cars and a show n’ shine car show with GM awards categories. The organizers say the event is “open to all GM oriented products and also anything with a GM powerplant,” so even LS-swapped BMWs will be welcomed. This makes the event a bit like Holley LS Fest, however whereas LS Fest is for GM LS-powered machines, GM Fest is open to GM vehicles with four-cylinders, V6s, electric powertrains or whatever else you can think of. LS Fest West is also held in Nevada, so GM Fest will appeal to those located more north.
Drag racing categories will include an All Pro Muscle class, which will permit racing items such as a trans brake, two-step system, open exhausts and slick tires. The All GM class is a little less serious, not permitting a trans brake or electronic aids, but allowing slicks and open exhausts. The Street Car Shootout and Fun Runs are for road legal cars on DOT tires with mufflers.
Some of the show n’ shine wards will include best overall vehicle, best GM truck, best GM classic, best Corvette, best Camaro, best Pontiac and best Buick, among others.
The event is being hosted by CCNorCal.com, a GM performance accessories store, along with the Maita Chevrolet dealership, FastGM’s car club and Chevrolet Performance. Festivities will kick off on Saturday, September 29 and tickets an be purchased at this link, if you are interested.
If you’re not in the Nor Cal area but love GMs, you may want to check out LS Fest East as well, which is being held in Bowling Green, Kentucky this year and will kick off on September 6. More information on that event is available right here.
