The GM Authority Take

Chevrolet Mexico sales fell once again in August, representing the seventh consecutive month that the brand’s sales have decreased in the Latin American country. Last month, 19 Chevrolet models that appear in the sales report saw a negative sales performance, with most seeing major declines. This turn of events has been recurring during nearly all months in 2019, and is directly related to the ongoing decrease in demand for automobiles in Mexico.

Only two Chevrolet models saw sales increase in August: the Beat and the Silverado/Cheyenne. It’s worth mentioning that August was the full-size pickup truck’s second-best sales performance in the Mexican market so far this year. Since its introduction this past March, sales of the all-new Silverado/Cheyenne have increased only in April and August.

Chevrolet Aveo

Additionally, the Chevrolet Aveo reclaimed its spot as Chevy’s best-selling model in August, despite suffering a 26 percent drop in sales volume during the month. The subcompact sedan hasn’t occupied this position since March, when the Chevrolet Beat outsold it for four consecutive months.
