Cadillac Discount Cuts Escalade Price By $8,000 In September 2019

Cadillac Escalade sales decreased 2 percent to 9,432 units in the second quarter of 2019. Though sufficient to remain the best-selling model in its class, the results underperformed the segment, which is far from ideal given the Escalade’s importance to GM’s bottom line, with the vehicle believed to be the automaker’s most profitable. As Cadillac continues to work on an all-new, next-generation Escalade for the 2021 model year, a new Cadillac discount reduces the price of select 2019 Escalade models by as much as $8,000 during the month of September.
It’s worth pointing out that a nearly identical Cadillac rebate was made available in July, and a similar rebate was also offered in August. These offers are a bit more lucrative than the $5,000 Escalade discount in March and $7,500 offer in April, though they are not as enticing as the $12,000 discount offered in January.
Incentives
Nationwide Cadillac rebate offers for the 2019 Escalade in August 2019 apply to both the regular-length Escalade and extended-length Escalade ESV models, and are as follows:
- Purchase incentive: $3,000 toward the purchase of a new model for current Cadillac owners/lessees who finance through GM Financial.
- This offer runs thru October 31st, 2019
- Purchase incentive: $8,000 purchase allowance.
- This offer runs thru October 31st, 2019
- Finance incentive: 0 percent APR for 36 months.
- This offer runs thru September 30th, 2019
- Lease incentive: $2,000 toward the lease of a new model.
- This offer runs thru October 31st, 2019
Those interested in financing should note that this month’s offer is for a 36-month term rather than a 72-month term, which was offered during the months of July and August. Additionally, the finance offer has been stripped of its cashback stack.
For reference, here are the 2019 Escalade and 2019 Escalade ESV trim levels and their corresponding starting MSRPs:
2019 Cadillac Escalade:
- Standard – $76,490
- Luxury – $82,090
- Premium Luxury – $86,490
- Platinum – $95,590
2019 Cadillac Escalade ESV:
- Standard – $79,490
- Luxury – $85,090
- Premium Luxury – $89,490
- Platinum – $98,590
Applied to a 2019 Escalade Premium Luxury model with a starting MSRP of $86,490, the headlining $8,000 Cadillac rebate reduces the starting price of the full-size luxury SUV to $79,490, making it just as affordable as a Standard (base) model.
The GM Authority Take
The substantial incentive is likely a strategic tactic to fend off new rivals – including the well-received Lincoln Navigator – prior to the arrival of the future Cadillac Escalade, which is expected for the 2021 model year. See more on the 2021 Escalade.
