Even with the summer now gone and fall settling in, memories of the warmer months remain fresh in our minds. Indeed, the summer of 2019 brought with it loads of fun and interesting events, including the 2019 Golden Memories Car Show in Flint, Michigan, where a cornucopia of classic GM vehicles were on display to delight participants and visitors alike.
Held on September 15th at the Flint Cultural Center, the 2019 Golden Memories Car Show is an annual event for original or authentically restored vehicles produced prior to 1970. The event is free to attend and non-competitive – that is, there’s no group of judges on hand to pick best-in-show winners from specific categories like at other car shows.
In addition to a wide selection of classic GM vehicles, attendees also got a chance to indulge in ice cream and hot dogs.
All told, for anyone looking to check out some well-preserved metal in a family-friendly environment, the Golden Memories Car Show in Flint, Michigan, is a surefire winner. With that in mind, let’s check out some of the classic GM models that showed up at this year’s event.
First up, we have this 1913 Buick Model 31, which looks amazingly well-preserved for being more than a century old. We’re loving the white-on-black color scheme, which works marvels with the whitewall tires and white rims. And check out those cool old-school lamps just ahead of the cabin.
The next classic GM is a 1932 Chevrolet pickup, finished in a ruddy shade of reddish brown and complete with black and chrome detailing. Hot rodders love to scoop these things up, stuff a huge engine up front, and fit enormous tires in the rear, so it’s nice to see one that’s been kept clean and original.
Finally, we have a crowd favorite – the 1954 Chevrolet Corvette C1. When it comes to classic GM vehicles, the first-gen Vettes are ice-cold cool. We’re also loving that Polo White exterior and Sportsman Red interior, which just looks gorgeous draped over the timeless C1 styling.
