If you’re a fan of thrash metal and NASCAR, then Rick Ware Racing’s sponsor for the upcoming Bristol night race may be of interest to you.
J.J. Yeley and his No. 54 Camaro team will carry metal band Slayer as a sponsor for the NASCAR Cup Series Bass Pro Shops NRA Night Race on August 17th. The sponsorship is the result of a deal between RWR and Nuclear Blast Records and is intended to promote Slayer’s upcoming Final World Tour – the last of its 40-years together.

“NASCAR racing and Slayer have a lot in common”, said Slayer guitarist Kerry King. “Both are extremely fast, intense and aggressive. I can think of nothing more rad than seeing the Slayer logo on Rick’s car with JJ behind the wheel. I’m sure Disciples of everyone involved will be completely stoked on the bond between these two fierce entities!”

The Bristol night race is a fan-favorite event and now comes at a crucial time in the NASCAR Cup Series season – just as drivers are vying for a playoff spot. race coverage is scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m. ET on August 17th.
