Chevrolet Equinox Midnight Edition Coming For 2020 Model Year

The 2020 Chevrolet Equinox will offer a fresh new aesthetic thanks to the addition of the optional Midnight Edition package, which equips a variety of dark-themed color changes both inside and out, plus a few extra comfort features as well.

The new 2020 Chevrolet Equinox Midnight Edition package, which will be assigned RPO code WN5, will include the following content:

  • Mosaic Black Metallic exterior color
  • Jet Black interior color with perforated leather-appointed seating
  • 19-inch Gloss Black aluminum alloy wheels
  • Memory settings
  • Inside rearview auto-dimming mirror
  • Outside heated power-adjustable and auto-dimming sideview mirrors
  • Dark finish fog lamp bezel surround
  • Unique mold-in-color black grille and mesh with black surround, plus front and rear black badging

The new package will be available with 2020 Chevrolet Equinox models at the 1LT and 2LT trim levels, and also requires the addition of the Confidence and Convenience Package.

The 2020 Chevrolet Equinox Midnight Edition package will not be available in conjunction with the Blackout Package or Chrome Package, nor the optional black bowtie emblems. For 2LT trim level models, the Midnight Edition package won’t be available in conjunction with the Redline Edition package either.

2017 Chevrolet Equinox Midnight Edition

The last time we saw this sort of package for the Chevrolet Equinox was with the 2017 model year. That particular package was priced at $1,695, and included similar content, such as Mosaic Black Metallic paint, a Jet Black leather interior, new wheels, and other black exterior accents.

This new package is scheduled to arrive ahead of a model refresh (otherwise known as mid-cycle enhancement, or MCE) set to debut with the 2021 model year. We recently previewed the Chevy Equinox’s 2021 model year changes with a set of spy photos that show off the updated model’s new lighting.

We’re certainly happy to see the 2020 Chevrolet Equinox receive extra visual upgrades, given the model must compete in the hugely competitive compact crossover segment. While popularity is soaring, so are the number of rival products, and anything to help stand out from the pack is definitely welcome. What’s more, blacked-out appearance packages are pretty much a surefire winner with buyers these days.

  1. I think the “Midnight Edition” ship has sailed. Time to try something else

    1. Black- out is fading fast. It left Europe last year. Check out the wheels of the cars shows over there. Black is over.

    2. I hope there’s better quality to the 2020. My 2014 and daughter’s 2013 both had MAJOR engine issues…blown oil seal, timing belt and engine replacement….Mine at 104,000…..with only a service bulletin in place covering up to 110,000 miles… But no recall……

      Major issues.. ….

  2. I kind of agree with Gmman99 above. This whole “blacked out” stuff is really getting old.

I like the red-line package Chevrolet offers, but then you only get certain exterior colors and must take the black interior. Why?

    1. Redline edition works for my Silver Traverse with my added camaro hash tags on side, its the only one in Central Florida or florida for that ! I haven’t seen another.
I would consider trade in for a 400 hp 2021 Blazer, LOL

  3. Why not something EXCITING! That is what is wrong with sales, nothing really new. 2020, means 2020 vision. The new decade is upon us and what is the new thing, NOTHING! Equinox looks like a hold-over until Chevy can get caught-up. The competition is building and at least there is the little Bolt and it is not new.

  4. Even when blacked out started, I never saw anything into it. Give me the bling instead, chrome on chrome. I guess it shows my age.

  6. Equinox needs 40/mpg, plug-in capability. Malibu could use Volt technology, also. Take the Volt a put a moon roof and sell the Premier with no options, everything included. A paint job on the Equinox is not a big benefit for Equinox, 40 MPG is.

  7. Not the best color option for HOT climate states ! I would not purchase BLACK on BLACK here in Florida, hell no.
