All-Black 2020 Corvette Spotted In The Wild: Video

Yup, the all-new 2020 Corvette C8 sports an all-new mid-engine configuration, giving it significantly different proportions compared to the outgoing C7, not to mention some fresh styling to match. We think it looks great, especially when seen out on the street in its natural habitat. And now, we have further evidence of that in this recently-posted YouTube video.

At about one minute, 30 seconds in length, the video is a relatively brief walk-around showing the 2020 Corvette and all its new angles. Draped in a deep shade of Black (RPO code GBA), this particular example is looking sleek and stealthy. According to the video description, the cameraman spotted the car going south on I-65 towards Bowling Green, Kentucky, presumably heading back to the GM Bowling Green plant.

“We pulled off the highway to get a bite to eat and he did too,” the description reads. “Great guy, he took time to answer questions and show me the car. Looks amazing in person!”

Interestingly , this particular 2020 Corvette is completely devoid of any badges, enhancing the clean black paint even further. There’s also a large red emergency button in the cabin, manufacturer plates and a big number “1” decal on the windshield, which means this example is a late prototype model of some sort.

Moving towards the back of the vehicle, the video provides us with a look at the rear engine cover, not to mention the gorgeous naturally aspirated 6.2L LT2 V8 engine that lays beneath.

Judging by the rear spoiler and black five-spoke wheels, this 2020 Corvette is also equipped with the optional Z51 Performance Package, which means its got 495 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque on tap thanks to the inclusion of a performance exhaust system – enough to propel the beastly machine to 60 mph in less than three seconds.

Seeing the 2020 Corvette in an all-black exterior just feels right. It gives the new sports car a fighter-bomber sort of vibe that’s just impossible not to like.

  1. All it needs is some polished wheels and I’d love it.

  2. The lines and the design look amazing, but I can tell that a lot of the material is camaro-ish cheap.

    1. Looks like the materials are better than any Corvette made so far, let alone a mid-engine Corvette with a base price less than $60k.

  5. Black hides the lines and design to much not my cup a tea. The black out look to me cheapens many cars styling. I be curious the re-sale value on these blackout look. Its not appealing to most buyer.

    1. You are wrong here. White is the color that covers the molded lines. Go and look at a white Corvette. My workmate had three white Corvettes between 1969 and 1994 and the color does hide the lines.

  6. Does anyone know why all of the pre-production cars are missing the Corvette emblem, the word “Corvette” on the back, and the Stingray thing on the trunk? It’s driving me crazy… the cat is out of the bag.. we all know what it is, lol.

  7. So far everybody I have shown the new Vette have said the same thing as me. Looks cool from the front door on up. The back end quarters just don’t work and flow very well though as if the back end belongs to a different car and are too chunky. The interior has drawn mixed reviews too but I like it overall even the steering wheel. Not fond of the everything is black look though.

  8. Live to dream, the 2024 C8 Corvette experiences a big design change by becoming a bottom feeder which means air flows from under the car to the engine compartment then out through vents over the rear fenders as the C8 Corvette looks eerily like the C7 Corvette as the side vents are no longer needed.

  10. I like it without the badges, I don’t need them to tell me what it is.
