Certain vehicles are good at certain things. You buy a Corvette if you want a great-handling sports car. You buy a Silverado or Suburban if you want to tow said sports car to the track. And you buy a 1948 Chevrolet Sedan Delivery if you want an awesome statement car that is sure to catch everyone’s attention.
This particular 1948 Chevy, currently being sold on eBay and located in Polk City, Florida, is a white-on-chrome, all original classic and the perfect blank canvas with which to build upon. Described as “solid front to back,” with good floors, there is a lot of good here. The chrome and exterior trim shows well, as do the windows, which all work smoothly. The interior is just as good, with the seller rating it a “9 out of 10.”
Our first instinct was that this 1948 Chevrolet Sedan would make a great demonstration vehicle or parts hauler for a GM tuning shop. After all, it’s large, practical and stylish. That all-white exterior with white-out rear panels would make for a great backdrop for said tuning shop’s logo, or even a full vehicle wrap, preserving the original finish underneath.
Speaking of the original finish, this 1948 Chevrolet is mostly original, with a claimed 54,000 miles on the odometer. The 3.5L straight-six engine “runs strong,” and the 3-speed manual transmission is also in good working order.
From there, the seller claims that some maintenance items have been completed in the last few months to get everything running smoothly. That includes a new fuel pump and filter, ignition system, battery and battery cables, as well as a rebuilt starter and carburetor. Though, the seller notes that the engine has been “intermittently losing spark this past week and will need service.”
That hiccup could be due to one of those recent maintenance repairs gone awry, however, with the general scarcity of clean, original classics, like this 1948 Chevrolet, it seems like a small issue given all the positives involved.
Price is set at $12,500, and the auction – which has 146 watchers as of this moment – ends on Sunday, September 1st at 11:06 pm.

Reminds me of my 2009 HHR SS AA5 (1/2 panel)……
Altho the HHR is based on the 47-54 Chevy panel they look nothing like it nor do they look like this real sedan delivery. When I had my 37 Chevy sedan delivery someone said it reminds them of a PT Cruiser. I educated that person very well on the differences.
Is this sedan delivery still available?
