  2. And to think that for many of us, our first sight of the 63′ Sting Ray, was in the pages of Mechanix Illustrated. A small black & white profile pic. An image still stuck in my mind.

The actual car showed up much later with little corporate fanfare.

    Thanks for the link, Alex.

  3. After all the hype, I expect a live action performance resembling a scene from a Hollywood blockbuster. I don’t want canned speeches from Mark and Mary. And I sure as hell don’t want a predictable five minute video, followed by some classic Vette or concept Vettes taking the stage, before the C8 busts through some construction paper at 5 MPH.

I want the kind of reveal that people are going to be sharing on the internet for months to come. I want tonight to signal a fresh start for not just America’s car, but for General Motors.

They have a facility the size of Texas at their disposal. Their advertising budget is bigger yet. They’ve had months, if not years, to plan for this. And they’re interrupting my evening for God’s sake.

    Make. It. Count.

  4. WHY AT 8PM PACIFIC ???? HALF THE UNITED STATES WILL BE SLEEPING. THAT’S 11PM EASTERN. YOU COULD HAVE DONE IT A LITTLE EARLIER.

    1. Yeah, it’s a little late for the east coast. RIP C7 after only 5 short years. Even though I think GM dumped too much money into this project I’ll still watch. I just hope Chevy puts a huge mark up on the C8 to cover development cost for future passenger cars.

  6. Do they actually sell more Vets in Cal.? Well all the people I have ever talked to from Cal. may own a Vet they almost all drive some kind of foreign car for their daily drivers! Sorry GM I have been your customer for 50 years and I can not believe what a screw up you have become, you do not back your products like all the cracked wheels on C7 Vetts (2017-19 ) G S and Z06, shame on you!!!!!!!!!

    1. Not sure, but the one dealership that sells the most is in Atlantic City, NJ.

      2. Kerbeck..
Largest Corvette dealer in the nation, and they act it. Not the easiest people to deal with.

    2. Pretty much, we vets don’t sell out for for anybody, and God hoping, any political agenda!
I’m with you on your cracked wheels, but when you accuse me of selling out, then I have an issue!

  7. It’s nice to see GM can still spend a couple bucks and put on a show. They need to do more of this.

  8. No offense to the young gal, but I can’t sit through this. This is far worse than I expected and far more boring.

    Good night, GM.

  12. I dunno, I’m still underwhelmed. Still looks clunky. My opinion, but an opinion of somebody who has been in the design business for many years.

    Maybe it was my phone.

Maybe I need to see it in person.

Maybe it was the lost opportunity GM had in its power to lead the 22 new planned EV’s with a new EV Stingray.

Maybe it was looking at the new Lotus Evija last night which confirmed for me what the new Stingray could have been, should have been. At a much lower price.

I didn’t finish watching the presentation, did they mention the price.
