New Cadillac Feature Enables In-Car Parking Payment

A new feature available through the Cadillac Marketplace will allow Cadillac owners to pay for parking from within their vehicles.
The app, called ParkWhiz, displays nearby open parking locations on the in-car display screen and allows them to pay for the spot whilst still in their vehicle. General Motors says ParkWhiz “has thousands of spaces available in more than 250 cities across the U.S.,” so no matter where you live, the application should have lots of relevant parking info for your locale.
“Cadillac’s new parking experience in Marketplace enables drivers to enjoy the journey without wondering where they will park when they reach their destination,” said Cadillac Marketplace line of business leader, Scott Goodard. “This is another example of how Cadillac is integrating technology that elevates the driving experience.”
To use ParkWhiz, Cadillac owners must first set an account up online or through the ParkWhiz mobile app for smartphones. They will then be instructed to input their preferred payment method and vehicle details such as the make, model and license plate number. Once complete, they will be able to link their ParkWhiz account to their vehicle, find nearby parking options and see other details about the lot or garage.
“As every driver knows, parking is a core component of the driving experience,” Dan Roarty, COO of ParkWhiz’s parent company Arrive, said in a statement. “In fact, people often spend the same amount of money on parking each month as they do on gas, but with more frequent transactions. We are thrilled to power parking in Cadillac vehicles, making it simpler for their drivers to reach their destinations.”
ParkWhiz is available to download from Cadillac Marketplace now.
