GMC Sierra sales decreased 4 percent to 56,857 units in the second quarter of 2019, with Sierra 1500 sales taking the bigger hit, falling 4.7 percent versus the 2.9 percent decline for Sierra HD sales. The results are to be expected, since the launch of the all-new T1-platform Sierra was still underway during Q2. Now that availability of the all-new truck has improved, a new GMC discount reduces the price of select Sierra models by as much as 20 percent, which is by far the largest incentive offered on the new-generation T1 Sierra 1500 so far since its launch.
The Incentives
Nationwide GMC discount offers for 2019 Sierra models during the month of July are as follows:
- 2019 Sierra 1500 (Double Cab models):Â 20 percent below MSRP
- This GMC discount is only available until July 8th, 2019
- 2019 Sierra 1500 (SLE Crew Cab models): 20 percent below MSRP
- This GMC discount is only available until July 8th, 2019
- 2019 Sierra 1500 (Crew Cab 4WD with SLT Premium Plus Package): $3,531 Price Reduction Below MSRP + $4,500 Purchase Allowance + $1,000 Option Package Discount = $9,031 total value
- 2019 Sierra 1500 (Crew Cab 4WD with SLE Value Package):Â $2,784 Price Reduction Below MSRP + $4,000 Purchase Allowance + $500 Option Package Discount = $7,284 total value
Note that the 20 percent GMC discount offer is only available until July 8th, which is this upcoming Monday. Hence, the deal appears to be part of GMC’s July 4th promotion. Additionally, the above GMC Sierra discount offers only apply to select in-stock units of the all-new, 2019 Sierra on the T1 platform. They do not apply to models on the K2 platform, which are being discounted by over $10,000 during the month of July.

20% isn’t enough GM as your still over pricing your trucks based on your competition………enjoy 3rd place
This is a good product and people seem to like it.
Barra will probably discontinue the Sierra in 2023 to focus more on something else.
This makes sense it’s the end of the model year/turn over. Got to get 2019s off dealer lot
Ram is kicking their butt.
So many times we read about how profitable the pickup truck segment is for the automakers. If GM chooses to go for profitability rather than market share they will keep their prices high. The danger is that while making lots of money in the short term they will fall to #3, then eventually #4, #5, maybe need a taxpayer bailout.
Two of my friends, one has GMC slt, the other Chevy rst, both have 8-speed trans. issues. GMC dealer did software changes which seemed to help, Chevy dealer said their hands were tied, did nothing, truck has 800 miles on it! GM has this problem since 2015, what is WRONG WITH THEM???
Beancounters running the Company once again. GM needs strong leadership that can stand up to them and make cars that do not come close to competing but absolutely crushes the competition. They have the talent to do so but the Beancounters will not allow them unfortunately. If they do not get anyone like that very soon, I fear GM will go down a very bad road. Their recent interiors are borderline embarrassing in todays car market. Not just the 1500 Twins either.
All i know is that in 10/15 years from now when EV’s are more relevant in the Industry, it’ll be hard for Auto Makers to differentiate themselves from others b/c there will be no legacy Powertrains. So basically it will be all about the High Technology offered to consumers and interiors. If GM doesn’t step us their game starting now, they are done. Put a fork in one of the biggest companies in the World. It is so sad what is happening right now. There is zero reason why GM made two 1500’s All New from the Ground up and these are their offerings. Ram is destroying them. I have been on this site for many, many years. I used to think that HP and Speed and all around performance was the key to sales. But the last couple of years I made a huge pivot. Like I have been stating here for about 4/5 years now, it is all about the Tech and Interiors. Todays consumers are clueless about powertrain but they all know which vehicle offers the best Tech and they can for sure see and feel the interior quality of each manufacturer.
GM step up your game ASAP!!!
It is unbelievable that GM hasn’t been able to figure out why they are canceling certain makes but the Competition is not. Just look at the Cruze interior compared to Corolla, Civic, Elantre, Forte, Imprezza, and Mazda 3. It was a joke and everyone here knows it or are just deniers and refuse to admit any wrongdoing by GM about anything.
Did you notice none of those vehicles were cut by their respected Auto Maker? Hmmmmmm, I wonder why that is GM.
Did they change fluid, it seems the TSB on the fluid change fixes the issues.
