Corvette Racing Calls Up Fassler To Sub For Injured Milner At CTMP

Corvette Racing has called up Marcel Fassler to sub for injured driver Tommy Milner at this weekend’s upcoming Mobil 1 Sportscar Grand Prix from Canadian Tire Motorsport Park.

IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship

Milner injured his hand in an accident that occurred on the opening lap of the Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen last weekend. The American driver was battling with the No. 911 Porsche 911 RSR of Laurens Vanthoor through the Glen’s ‘Esses’ section when the two made contact, sending Milner spinning out of control before tapping the wall on both sides. He was then hit a GTD Mercedes-AMG GT as he sat stationary on the track.

“On the advice of doctors, there is too much risk for further damage and it would be best to allow time for it to heal,” Milner said. “I look forward to getting back into the car as soon as I’m able.”

“In the meantime, I’m glad we are able to call on Marcel. He always does a great job for the team and we’re all confident he’ll do the same this weekend.”

Fassler serves as co-driver of the No. 4 Corvette C7.R for endurance races only, joining Milner and teammate Oliver Gavin for Daytona, Sebring and Le Mans. He says racing at the fast and flowing CTMP circuit “will be a different experience,” but knows the veteran Corvette Racing team will help familiarize him with an IMSA sprint race weekend.

“I’m very sorry for Tommy’s injury,” Fassler said. “I’m sure It is a very difficult and frustrating situation for him, and I hope he is back in the Corvette soon.”

“But Corvette Racing is a very close team. We all work well together, so I’m positive the team will do the best job possible helping me get up to speed.”

  1. Does anyone know how a bees can fly? They seem too heavy for their little wings.
