Chevrolet Discounts All-New 2019 Silverado By 20 Percent In July 2019

Chevrolet Silverado sales decreased 8 percent to 142,464 units, with 1500 model sales declining 5 percent to 109,930 units. The results are in line with expectations of the ongoing launch of the all-new 2019 Silverado 1500, which is nearing completion, with retail availability of the redesigned full-size, half-ton pickup now improved as more body styles and powertrain variants are now being manufactured. And now, a new Chevrolet discount lowers the price of select 2019 Silverado 1500 models by 20 percent, which in some cases equates to nearly $10,000 off.

The Incentives

Nationwide Chevrolet discount offers for the all-new 2019 Silverado on the T1 platform in July 2019 are as follows:

  • 2019 Silverado Double Cab LT with All Star and Z71 packages:
    • 20 percent price reduction below MSRP
    • This discount is available thru Monday, July 8th, 2019
  • 2019 Silverado 1500 Crew Cab LT/RST: 0 percent APR (interest-free) for 72 months when financing with GM Financial
    • This discount is available thru July 31st, 2019

GM provides the following example for the 20 percent Chevrolet discount, as it applies to a 2019 Silverado 1500 model with an MSRP of $48,775:

  • $6,895 purchase cash + $2,860 price reduction below MSRP = $9,755 total discount

As such, the 20 percent Chevrolet discount lowers the price of said Silverado 1500 LT All Star Z71 model from the $48,775 MSRP to a much more palatable $39,000.

About Chevrolet Silverado

The Chevrolet Silverado is a lineup of full-size pickup trucks sold primarily in North America, but also in the Middle East and in certain markets in South America. Slotting above the mid-size Chevrolet Colorado (known as the S10 in some markets), the Silverado is Chevrolet's largest pickup truck and currently consists of the 1500 light duty model, two Heavy Duty models - the 2500HD and 3500HD, as well as Conventional Class 4, Class 5 and Class 6 Medium Duty models - the Silverado 4500HD and Silverado 5500HD and Silverado 6500HD.

The 2018 Chevy Silverado represents the fifth model year of the third-generation Silverado. It is based on the GM K2 platform shared with other full-size pickup trucks and SUVs from GM. Though the line sold relatively well, it became less competitive in the marketplace with time when compared to its primary Ford F-Series rival, due to lacking cutting-edge features such as turbocharged engines, a rugged off-road variant such as the Ford F-150 Raptor, a diesel engine option in the light duty (1500) model, and also various modern features and equipment.

Luckily, an all-new Silverado arrived for the 2019 model year that addresses many of the issues of its predecessor model. Customers began taking delivery of the all-new truck in the second half of August 2018.

Chevrolet says that the all-new 2019 Silverado is the result of over 7,000 customer interviews - the most intensive research in its history. The new model uses higher grade alloy steel in the bed floor as well as various mixed materials that result in a reduction in weight and improved performance, with weight falling about 450 pounds. The truck also offers an expanded amount of models for a total of eight, including the new 2019 Silverado Trailboss.

Riding on GM's new T1 platform shared with other future GM full-size trucks and SUVs, the 2019 Silverado offers more technology, convenience features, and engine/transmission combinations. While details of five powertrain combos have already been revealed, GM has not yet shared details of the new inline-six 3.0L Duramax Diesel engine, only stating that it will be "best-performing" and that it will be mated to GM's new 10-speed transmission.

Notably, the outgoing, Chevy will continue manufacturing and selling the outgoing, K2 generation Silverado alongside the all-new model for a limited amount of time in limited configurations.

2020 Chevrolet Silverado HD

Having overhauled the Silverado 1500, Chevy will next overhaul the Silverado Heavy Duty. The brand released a teaser image of the upcoming all-new 2020 Silverado HD in April 2018 and announced the vehicle in November 2018. The truck will launch in the 2019 calendar year as a 2020 model.

The 2020 Silverado HD will be comprised of the Silverado 2500HD and Silverado 3500HD that ride on a more robust and capable version of the new T1 platform when compared to the 2019 Silverado 1500, while sharing many high-tech features and design elements with its light duty brother.

Completing the overhauled Silverado family is the 2019 Silverado Medium Duty series, comprised of the Silverado 4500HD, 5500HD, and 6500HD.

  1. They have no choice. In Canada, you can get massive discounts on every full size on the market including Tundra which traditionally had very few discounts. They have to stop pretending they have a superior product worthy of paying more for. They’re clearly losing market share in the segment. As far as stock, every dealer in my metro has plenty of all models. I’m not buying GM’s BS about not having enough. This is not to say they aren’t selling, though. The AT4, Trailboss and Denali’s are the most common.

  2. Went to the dealership and found nothing I wanted at any price point. Found a Centennial version on the lot for $62k. Insane.
No USB in the back or vents to cool off the kiddies and dog on long road trips. Blah brown pudding interior that was simply depressing. “Special blue” paint? Huh? They dropped the ball as an anniversary 100th on that one by somehow justifying $3500 for extra badges on top of the already dealer mark up. Sad. GM has a HUGE backlog of vehicles on shipping yards growing by the day. I don’t know how they’ll sell these without crashing the market or offering bigger discount towards year end. That Centennial, I would have had to think HARD even if offered at $40k. No special engine, interior, nothing.
Heard so much about Chevy was willing to buy but walked away not interested.
Sales guy was nice, professional and not crapping on other brands.. Really good service and knew his stuff. No even phased when he asked what else I was considering. I told him. He said “Ya, that seems to be our competition”. Really cool guy that alone would bring me back. As I’m a life long Toyota fan they’ve done nothing and have left me cold for 14 years with an outdated Tundra.
Good luck Chevy, hope you get your mojo back

Trucks have big engines and small cabins. Allowing them to quickly heat or cool cabin. Rear vents are pointless.
Most people connect devices using Bluetooth, That and wireless charging is making USB ports obsolete.
GM tries to stay ahead of tech trends. Takes a few years before their vehicles feel outdated.

I also have Millennial aged Children and Nefiews. I see how they connect devices when riding in the same vehicle. They don’t use USB connections.

  3. Does anyone remember — GM tried this with the ’00 and early ’01 Chevy 2500HD “High Hood” trucks…before the Duramax came out, and it came late in 01, around May…the 00 and 01 2500HD gas debuted the 6.0L and the fourth door in an extended cab…and a whole new bodystyle…and the prices went up 20%…and the truck was sooo butt ugly no one wanted one – we did buy an 01 2500HD 6.0, extended shortbox…what a dog…and gas guzzler…the 02 they got that engine really performing…and by 02, they had a new front end figured out and the price went back down.

I honestly hope Ram kicks the crap out of GM…we are part of the lifetime GM people who owned stock before the crash…but it seems that GM needs to learn big mistakes in a big way every so often…

We would buy a new body Crew long and crew short Duramax’s…but they took the fleet incentives away, so regular customers get better deals than fleet…arrogant bastards…go on Ram…push on that category too — that’s what it will take for GM to figure out they dont own the market!

**Oh, and GM…if this email gets to someone that cares — dont screw up the new baby Duramax in a half ton like you soooo severely mismarketed the Quadrasteer option — or you wont just lose that market, but…Nissan will kick your ass too…that’s all we hear on the street, Nissan this, Nissan that.

      Nissan? C’mon

Nissan’s sales are falling off a cliff, and their vehicles routinely come in last in most comparison tests. The Titan has had very little impact on the market, and sales are down over 20% in the first half of the year. The Frontier is older than dirt. People buy them because their dirt cheap. With the Ranger also coming in at the low end of the market, Nissan will struggle to keep the sales its got.

      Reply
      1. Yeah, the Nissan comment makes absolutely no sense at all. Hardly anybody is talking about Nissan trucks. Not sure where he gets that impression. GM’s problem is potentially losing market share of the Big 3 if less people find them appealing when they cross shop Ford and Ram. Sales numbers don’t mean everything but losing sales because buyers feel a product is a step behind while at the same price point of the competition is bad no matter how anyone tries to spin it.

        1. Remember just a few short years ago, when 7 out of 8 Dodge trucks were diesel…watch the little guys that everyone underestimates, and remember what Tucker said in the 40s, ‘Are you Scared…I think Scared people fight harder’…well…GM fights harder when they’re getting beat on all sides….when GM is on “cruise control”, they’re so monolithic, it’s easy to beat them…but…awaken the sleeping giant, and away they go!!

      2. You dont have to agree with it…you dont even have to like it…but…there is a whole new half generation learning to drive, who have no brand loyalty whatsoever, who shout Nissan Cummins…who were raised on import cars and little trucks, and that portion is always growing – proof positive in what we see happening with Ram…everyone in the market, probably including Ram employees, knows that there has always been a reason Dodge or Ram wasn’t #2…they simply were not as good of a truck — and, since we own two ’17 Ram Cummins in our Agricultural division, I can speak firsthand, they still aren’t…might be tougher, short term, but over the course of ten years, our GM truck files have less than 1/2 the overall costs. No one could have predicted this rise…but the new generation thinks in looks and the 12″ infotainment screen…stupid stuff…but they are buying, so suddenly it matters.

        Reply
        1. A lot of commercial buyers here are seeing the same thing. The Ram is cheaper up front, but not cheaper to own over the life of the vehicle. When you factor in downtime and out of warranty repairs, it doesn’t take long to learn you were “stepping over dollars to pickup dimes”. That holds true with Ram 1500 up to the 5500. I am not sure why the poster above is not getting a fleet discount. If you have a GM fleet number, there are discounts, last I bought it was 4500. That of course changes all the time. Ram has bought a lot of market share, they will either be a hero or a zero. It all depends on how their vehicles stand the test of time. A lot of that depends on how they are used. The closer the usage gets to commercial level usage, the less likely that experience will be a positive one in my opinion. Already the Ram 1500 pickups have had a slew of recalls. No one is immune to recalls, but it seems Ram has them in a disproportional number.

  4. Government motors is sad cafe. All they know how to do is reduce content on their vehicles. No rear vents, no adaptive cruise control, no pano sunroof, rainsense wipers, the list goes on and on. GM was just made Ram’s female dog in monthly truck sales. GM’s 20% off sale is very weak, and it expires already on July 8? GM will have to knock off 30% on their overpriced trucks, to compete wiith Ram. As of right now, gm is #3, and things don’t look good!

    Reply
    1. The 2019’s have rear vents and the 20’s will have adaptive cruise. GM is not #3, either. GM sold more trucks than anybody last year. Silverado is #3 right now. As a corporation GM is a truck juggernaut but we’re talking about a specific model and class.

      1. Ram outsold silverado and sierra combined in June 2019. GM is floundering in the truck market. Not only does Ford keep beating gm, but now for June, Ram has made gm #3. I looked at the new gm trucks, and asked about the lack of adaptive cruise, (that Ford has had since 2015), pro trailer backup assist, keypad entry, etc, etc. His reply was that they were behind the times compared to certain other manufacturers. I didn’t even bother asking about the 12″ screen. Government motors is going to have to increase price reductions and up their game. I couldn’t believe how Ram manhandled gm last month!

  5. My boss just got a 2018 leftover Sierra 3500 with a dump body and a Duramax for 50k. Not well optioned but 4wd, PW and PDLs. It is the quietest diesel truck I have ever heard and it rides a lot better than the 2008 3500 wt it replaced.

  9. It’s crystal clear the GM needs an emergency redesign of their interiors on the new half ton trucks and HDs. There’s a lot to like in the new GM trucks but Ram is cleaning GMs clock due to their great new interiors and availability of the 12″ center stack screen. I’m partial to GMCs but I have to admit that GM wiffed on their new interiors. Their only hope in the near term is that the 3.0 diesel is a hit but it looks like Ram may have one upped them with superior torque when the new Ecodiesel arrives.

  10. Another sad story this truck has been a disappointment since it came out I had such high hopes for it when it was introduced to the world the looks I had to get use to but I thought they had finally put in the time to bet the competition and to only find out once again they come up short

GMC needs a new line above Denali — everyone has Denali…and yeah, I love the name, but not when every darned person has one — what does Ford have…so darned many trim levels…enough to dizzy a guy…but wow…Platinum…. And they need to fix the bugs in this existing system — on this body, when you answer the phone, handsfree, it dumps the a/c(turns it wayyy down), so going down the highway, you absolutely bake, and you cant turn it back up until you hang up

  17. So a starting work truck price is over $35k….think again. Reduce the starting price, intro a crew z71 pack WT with the big V8-instead of stepping up and up for it, and price it for the common man to buy the thing. If you do a redesign we shouldn’t have to pay for the redesign, we should pay for the truck. If you want to beat Ford and Dodge then make us want to buy the thing. With all the things going up today, poop gas mileage and a need for someone us or a tool for work, a reasonable truck that starts at almost 150% of my after tax salary is absolutely insane. When you can’t reach the market because you price us out, you are not increasing the people that can buy it and you can’t meet sale hopes. When you price it to reach the full market, provide us with features that no one else can and make us want to buy it – stepping up from our 10 yr old trucks that are paid for that we can fix ourselves….then you will make a truck.
