The 2020 Cadillac XT6 mid-size crossover is now on sale in China.
The XT6 is an important product for Cadillac in China, with mid-size crossovers key to driving sales volume and growing market share in the country. In recent years, China has surpassed the United States to become Cadillac’s largest market.
General Motors showed just how serious it was about the Chinese market when it announced the 2020 Cadillac XT6 would be produced in the country for local consumption. This gives it a huge competitive advantage over competing luxury crossovers, as it does not have to face steep import tariffs and can thus be sold for less. The XT6 is also the largest crossover produced in China.
The Chinese-spec 2020 Cadillac XT6 is built at the automaker’s Jinqao Plant, located just outside of Shanghai. The Cadillac CT6 is also built there, along with the Cadillac XT4 and Cadillac XT5.
The XT6 trim structure is different in China than it is in the US. A total of five model variants are offered across three levels of equipment: Luxury, Premium Luxury and Sport. Cadillac does not offer the base-level Luxury trim in US, with just two trims offered domestically: Premium Luxury and Sport. Both two- and three-row versions of the crossover are offered in China, with the two-row version swapping the middle bench seat for a pair of captain’s chairs.
GM is also only offering four-cylinder versions of the XT6 in China, whereas US buyers can only get GM’s 3.6-liter LGX V6. The automaker’s 2.0-liter turbocharged LSY four-cylinder makes 237 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque in the application and is paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission.
The 2020 Cadillac XT6 is available in more than 300 Cadillac showrooms across China, with prices starting at 419,700 yuan, or about $61,000 USD at current exchange rates.

2.0 L LSY is good for China but 3.6L LGX in the states is pretty slow. This size of a car needs at least 400hp.
I’m with you on more power for the vehicle size !!!!
It sucks that we can’t get that blue in America. How about green. Same old boring colors here. Finally saw one in person. It looks really good. Doesn’t look like a Pilot at all.
