The 2020 Cadillac CT5 just made splashdown this past April at the 2019 New York International Auto Show, struttin’ into the luxury D-segment as a brand-new nameplate in the Cadillac stable. Now we’re getting a little further under the skin of this fresh four-door thanks to the arrival of the official Cadillac CT5 order guide, courtesy of our sister publication, Cadillac Society.
For those who may be unaware, the Cadillac CT5 order guide is the document that dealers use to order their vehicles from GM. In this case, the one for the Cadillac CT5 is over 40 pages long and comes with complete listings of every option, feature, and equipment package offered on the new model.
However, there’s only one engine option listed thus far: the turbocharged 2.0L inline four LSY, which produces 237 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. The LSY engine will mate exclusively to the new GM new 10-speed automatic transmission. Models equipped with this powertrain configuration will carry a “350T” badge on the trunk, which is a nod to Cadillac’s latest torque-based naming convention, with the “350” being the LSY’s peak torque in newton-meters, rounded to the nearest 50.
Unfortunately, the order guide doesn’t mention the previously-announced twin-turbo 3.0L V6 that will be offered, and that will carry the 550T designation. It does, however, show the CT5’s triplet of trim levels, including the base Luxury and higher-up Premium Luxury and Sport trims. The designation is part of the recently-adopted Cadillac Y Trim Level strategy.
In terms of aesthetics, there’s a total of 11 exterior colors available, including:
- Crystal White Tricoat
- Velocity Red
- Red Obsession Tintcoat
- Satin Steel Metallic
- Summit White (which we previously reported on)
- Black Raven
- Evergreen Metallic
- Shadow Metallic
- Wave Metallic
- Garnet Metallic
- Dark Moon Metallic
Each of these exterior paint options is offered at an additional charge, with the exception of Black Raven and Summit White – the two non-metallic hues.
Inside, the 2020 Cadillac CT5 offers five color combinations, including:
- Maple Sugar with Jet Black Accents
- Jet Black with Jet Black Accents
- Whisper Beige with Jet Black Accents
- Sahara Beige with Jet Black Accents
- Sedona Sauvage with Jet Black Accents
For those eager to dive into all the nitty-gritty details, the full 40-page order guide is available for viewing here (in PDF format).

3.0TT or 2.7 T ( I prefer the 2.7T )
My choice !!
NOT a 2.0T in a Cadillac.
Start from the customer and you’ll find your way to reality.
Cadillac or not, 2.0T is what buyers in this segment expect. Most don’t need nor want anything bigger or more powerful, and the 2.0T is plenty powerful to do a great job in every GM vehicle it’s in.
Well I AM the CUSTOMER !
And how would you or GM know if all that is offered is the 2.0T.
I will state the CT6 one more time !!
Until Cadillac/GM put the larger engines out there the CT6 was DEAD, literally DEAD !!
Now we have a CT6 WITHOUT the 2.0T, WHY nobody wanted it !!!
If GM/Cadillac sat side by side the 2.0T and the 2.7T on a lot for test drives MORE would chose the 2.7T unless GM just priced them out of range.
And I love your GM corporate arrogant response ” Most don’t need “, again telling the REAL CUSTOMER what they need.
I thought Cadillac was going to be Cadillac, not to chase the 2.0T foreigners in the market, what happened to that philosophy by Steve !!
If Cadillac got rid of that 2.0T and let the GM blah market have it, Cadillac could move to the 2.7T as the smallest engine and eat back into the market by offering MORE than BLAH AVERAGE.
Again if all Cadillac puts on the lots is the 2.0T there is NO way to say that is what the CUSTOMER wants and does nothing to change the status quo !
I am the CUSTOMER and if Cadillac puts 2.0T in Escalade, I will be the first one in the line to get it.
RedBox,
Knowing GM/Cadillac you just mite get your wish a 2.0T in an Escalade.
Ha, Ha, Ha, Ha,
Ohhh, Alex. Don’t hide. That was not the Escalade lol
Hey Alex, isn’t it about time you bit the bullet and retracted that article?
I’m talking about your your lying thread conncected with the Escalade.
So does the 3.6 V6 naturally aspirated engine making 335 hp on REGULAR FUEL..Where I live premium fuel is approx., 90 cents per gallon more or $12.00 more every fill up.I have already stroked the CT5 off the list for that reason plus others..I like the look of the CT4 but without the 3.6 I cannot buy it.I currently own a 2017 ATS Premium Luxury AWD with the 3.6.Previous vehicle was a 2013 ATS 3.6 AWD..Between the 2 vehicles I have saved approx $3300.00 between regular and premium fuel. That’s a lot.At least to me.
Sometimes, premium octane is only “required” to get the advertised power. I don’t know about the new turbo engines.
Will there be a padded Landau roof option to cover up the ghastly C-pillar? If not perhaps the South Florida Cadillac dealers will step in and handle it themselves and offer an aftermarket Phaeton roof option.
I’m joking of course but without some sort of delete option for the cheesy plastic Saturn Ion-like part behind the rear door, I think buyers will go elsewhere.
Black. Beige. Other Beige. God the interior colour options are a let-down. Way to dare greatly, Cadillac.
Cadillac must have gotten a great deal on black carpeting.
Anyone know what this is:
“LED Reflective Windshield Alert
1 – Upgradeable to (UV6) Head-Up Display when (Y5X) Driver Awareness Plus
Package is ordered.”
GM is stupid for reducing the power of its 2.0T from 272 hp to 237. GM is doubly stupid for reducing the power of its 3.0TT engine from 404 hp to 335 hp. GM is triply stupid for calling a mild ECU tune of the 2.7T and 3.0TT engines a CT4-V and CT5-V respectively. Trading what could have been segment leading performance for a 200 rpm sooner torque ramp is simply a bad trade. Give me a reason anyone with a performance slant will buy any of these cars over a BMW 3-series or 5-series? Give me a reason anyone without a performance slant will buy any of these cars over a MB C-class or E-class, or a Lexus IS or GS?

I am a 2014 CTS VSport Owner and Cadillac has just lost me as a customer.
If Cadillac will not let have a CT5 with a naturally aspirated 3.6 engine, they can have my XTS back and I will find another auto to lease!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
