2020 Holden Colorado Update Brings New Trim Level, Extra Features

The 2020 Holden Colorado is here, and it’s getting a few updates and changes, including making LSX edition a permanent trim level, as well as new standard equipment and a fresh accessory pack strategy, all with no pricing increases.

To kick things off, the 2020 Holden Colorado will now offer the LSX as a rugged, off-road-ready trim level. It was previously offered as a limited-edition model. The Holden Colorado LSX comes equipped with 18-inch wheels, a glossy black grille, fender flares, and a soft tonneau cover.

The 2020 Holden Colorado also comes with a DuraGuard spray-in bed liner, known as a “tub-liner” in Australia, as standard on the Z71 and LTZ trim levels.

“Just over 60 percent of Z71 and LTZ customers fit tub-liners,” said general manager of LCV [Light Commercial Vehicles) marketing at Holden, Andre Scott. “So we took the initiative to factory fit a premium product that delivers a quality fit, and a more functional and better-looking solution for our customers.”

The new liner is designed to reduce slipping and further toughen-up the bed.

New to the Z71 trim is a set of standard fender flares and a skid plate, as well as an exclusive soft-drop tailgate. Meanwhile, the mid-range LTZ Crew Cab now comes with standard leather seating and front-row heating.

The 2020 Holden Colorado also debuts a new accessory pack strategy designed to streamline the customization process. The accessory pack lineup includes the Tradie, Farmer, Black, Rig, and Xtreme.

As an example, the Tradie pack throws in:

  • Towing package
  • Side and rear step-ups
  • Roof tray
  • 12-volt auxiliary power outlet
  • Floor mats
  • Canvas seat covers
  • Window weather shields
  • Hood protector
  • Cupholders

Fleet customers will also be interested in the LTZ+ variant, which comes with an available tow package rated at just under 1,000 kg (2,205 pounds).

Best of all, MSRP for the 2020 Holden Colorado remains unchanged compared to the 2019 model year. Pricing starts at $31,690 (AUS) for the LS 4×2 Single Cab Chassis, and ranges as high as $57,190 (AUS) for the LZ1 4×4 Crew Cab.

For our Stateside readers, the Holden Colorado is the international version of the pickup of the same name that we enjoy here in the U.S. Despite a shared nameplate and 31XX platform, the Holden Colorado differs from the Chevrolet Colorado in several ways, including dimensions, cab and bed configurations, interior, and more. More information about the differences is available here.
