GM unveiled the 2020 Cadillac XT6 as a three-row, “midsize plus” crossover at the 2019 North American International Auto Show in Detroit that slots above the Cadillac XT5. But Cadillac only showed off two trim levels: Premium Luxury and Sport. Surprisingly, Cadillac did not reveal the range-topping Platinum trim level, which is the range-topping model in Cadillac’s latest “Y” trim level strategy. However, our sister site, Cadillac Society, has discovered that a Cadillac XT6 Platinum will be available, albeit not as a trim level.
Instead, the 2020 Cadillac XT6 will offer a standalone Platinum Package, that will come with a number of upgrades, mostly to the interior, to deliver an XT6 loaded to the brim. The Cadillac XT6 Platinum Package features wrap all three rows of seats, console, door trim, and instrument panels with Semi-Aniline leather. The roof is covered in a microfiber suede headliner, while the floor is lined with premium carpeted mats, front to back.
Additionally, the Cadillac XT6 Platinum Package will include the real-time, continuously variable damping suspension – which is otherwise optional on the XT6 Premium Luxury and standard on the XT6 Sport.
Ordering the Cadillac XT6 Platinum Package also equips the XT6 with the following content:
- Driver Assist Package:
- Comfort and Air Quality Package:
- Air Ionizer
- Driver and front passenger ventilated seats
- Rear outboard heated seats
- Enhanced Visibility and Technology Package:
- Cadillac user experience infotainment system with navigation
- Premium headlamp system
- Security cargo shade
- Jet Black or Maple Sugar interior color with Jet Black accents
The Cadillac XT6 Platinum Package is assigned RPO Code JSE and is offered as an optional package on all 2020 XT6 trim levels, including Premium Luxury with either front-wheel-drive or all-wheel-drive, or Sport, which comes exclusively with all-wheel-drive.
No word on pricing at this time, but given the long list of required packages, we bet it won’t be cheap.
