This GMC Sports Coupe Rendering Channels Its Inner Camaro

Every General Motors brand offers a coupe or some sort of two-door vehicle except for GMC. Chevy has the Corvette and the Camaro, Cadillac has the ATS Coupe, and even Buick has the Cascada (though we should note that the ATS and Cascada are not long for this world). But what if GMC did have a coupe? That’s what Instagram account @kurdistan_automotive_blog_ has tried to do done. Let’s, for the moment, call this rendering the GMC sports coupe.
A rough translation of the Instagram post tells us that the creators of this concept started out with the Chevrolet Camaro (a coupe for the rear, and a convertible for the front), and then gave it some GMC logos and design elements. The front fascia is borrowed from the upcoming 2020 GMC Acadia, and it looks as good or bad as you’d expect. The same goes for the rear end, which features the taillight assembly off the 2020 Acadia.
The practice of giving Chevy’s perennial sports coupe blocky GMC styling is debatable at best, but that’s not to say that it’s totally not worth looking at. In fact, with the right surface development, this could look like some kind of a futuristic Hot Wheels car. Just please get rid of those gaudy gold wheels.
Do you happen to like the design of this Chevrolet Camaro infused with GMC Acadia styling cues (we can call it Camaracadia)? Give us your thoughts by participating in the poll and talking with us in the comment section below.

Giving the green light for even a rendering demonstrates that General Motors CEO Mary Barra has lost her mind.. why not bring back the Pontiac Firebird if she is consider another sports coupe.
gm-kurdistan didn’t pay for this render.
GM has nothing to do with the render, it’s by some random Instagram dude.
They could be thinking about giving GMC more to sell and getting rid of Buick in the USA . It would be no surprise if Cadillac ended up with GMC since GM would like to get rid of a lot more dealers.
By the way GM is operating & down-sizing; They are being self-centered; THE MORE GM SHRINKS IT’S STAFF: THE EXEC’S ARE SLOWLY DELETING THE GENERAL M. BRAND!
I’ll take a crew cab convertible.
edit: with tow package.
With the all new 16-Way cloth top.
GMC has no need for cars. My local GMC dealer lost Pontiac and refused Buick and is doing better than ever.
This idea is just plain stupid. You are already selling too few Camaro’s so you are going to do a new re badge? Right!
You already have a dozen companies who have tried to do their own Firebird on he Camaro that have failed so why this?
You want to give GMC something special. Do an upscale vehicle that is also off road. Something like a Hummer but in today’s styling and size appropriate. Finally do the Wrangler challenger that would be better as it is not stuck to using only one style to represent it. Jeep is boxed in for better or worse. The Wrangler is a high profit model and GM could easily do the same on a shortened Canyon platform.
I have seen some really far out crazy Mushroomed induced ideas here and this one takes the cake.
The other option is if you want to use a Camaro use the platform and do an Ute. Still a tough sell but you could export it to down under for additional sales.
This is we just have nothing else to post for Monday fodder.
I can tell you didn’t read anything on this. It’s called fanart. No one at GMC or GM did this….. chill
Shaun you did not read my post in context.
I did read this and understand it was fanart and I gave my opinion on why it is a fools venture.
The only thing worse than the drawing is someone who thinks this was a good idea.
I started at GMC and ended at fodder and your context seems to be a rant directed at GM/GMC when a simple whoever designed this should be slapped would’ve been good
Ok you and the guy that drew this should be slapped ?.
Happy now?
Oh did I touch a nerve? If you want to slap me bring a ladder, I’d love to see you try
You sound like a 12 year old.
Take a deep breath, and listen to yourself. You can do better. I believe in your potential to grow and use intelligence above grade school bullying.
Stay strong in your search to move beyond your adolescent behavior!
Exactly how am I being a bully? I’m not the one who wants to slap anyone
Shaun, I guess it was the, “ bring a ladder if you want to try” comment. It reminds me of my days in grade school.
We are all adults here. No need for calling someone out who is only another human expressing opinions on a web site.
I’m sure you are a wonderful person. Most people are. I didn’t mean to offend you.
Have a great evening!
Oh ok. Well as you can see I was merely giving him the opportunity to do so, but what would happen in my self-defense? Who knows, but he can take the offer or leave it.
If I was the bully in this I would have been hostile to you for taking up for them
No offense taken
Really mature LOL!
Get a life bud.
So your comment about slapping me and the guy that drew this is mature?
Oh and I never said that I liked it so who you really mad at?
Wow what did I miss?
Are you a Bully? not even close! Immature by all accounts.
An answer your edited statement.
Where was I critical about what you didn’t say?
I basically just said to chill and your the one who wants to slap people till there something other than taste in my mouth? If I’m any part immature then I say you are to buddy
Buick should be filling the niche space abandoned by Pontiac, not GMC. Avista was an upscale Pontiac and would have been an amazing halo. Even using Firebird as a throwback trim package would have attracted Pontiac die hard.
GMC will never sell cars. This is Buick turf. Buick does better than Acura with is still fighting for its American life. A vehicle like this plus three quality SUVs would maybe save the brand.
Maybe bring back the full-size K5 Two door blazer Ford is going to bring the bronco back so why not
Wow, that’s ugly.
Lets see she is getting rid of as many cars as possible and is considering bringing in a GMC pony car that is seeing yearly sales drops at the Chevrolet dealerships. Okaaaaaay now
That would be a great theory if this was a render from GMC or GM, but since it’s not you have nothing to worry about
It’s only a fun visualization of a vehicle we all know will never see the light of day, much less have a place in any market.
I must say that I get strong Berger panel vibes from the rear shot, which is probably the most agreeable part of this car.
Crazy how many people can’t read and realize this isn’t from GM/GMC at all
A rebadged Camaro is all but useless.
A high-performance SUV would be a better idea.
I AGREE GET RID OF THOSE GOLD RIMS. OTHER THAN THAT. WHY NOT. IT LOOKS PRIDDY GOOD TO ME. LET IT ROLL. ?
A Camaro with a bed = GMC Sprint?….. ..
lol…Then it would be called El Camaro…
GM had a twin of the EL-Camino, called GMC Sprint.
Just what GM needs, another ugly vehicle in their line up!
Now maybe if they could turn a Camaro (or even an Impala) into a modern GMC Sprint, that might be worth pursuing.
Guestt and I seem to have had the same thought, at almost the same time! LOL
This is good humor. If the Avista can’t make it to production, this surely never will. What I find humorous is if the blazer can look like a camaro, why not the other way around for GMC?? lol…
I disagree with the poll question stating that GMC should stick to SUVs. I don’t think that unibody FWD crossovers represent the GMC brand heritage any more than a GMCamaro would.
I mostly agree. GMC is the best brand to move to RWD platforms and avoid overlapping Buick. Except where a curvy Buick could play better on a coupe or vert (sorry Pontiac people). And for this, the Camaro is too close of an overlap.
Lmaoff!
Go for it. GMC is a good truck. I’m sure a coupe would be good. Just put all good specs into the first one and not wait to upgrade to lets say a better suspension or engine displacement just a year later like all automakers do!!!
It looks good except for the back. GMC or GM in general should make a high performance wagon, now that they don’t make the CTS-V anymore. Chevy SS wagon anybody?
Really Like to see a high performance SUV in the GMC YUKON line, minimum 650 HP with 6 speed tranny.
Yukon ss
I would’ve opted for the 2019 Terrain front fascia.
Yes I think GMC should build a sport car
A sport car based pickup, yes but not an actual car
