As anyone who works with his or her hands will confirm, it’s important to have the right tool for the job. In that regard, the 2019 Silverado Medium Duty truck line requires the right customization to adorn its chassis cab body style. And now, we’re getting our first look at how the 2019 Chevrolet Silverado Medium Duty 5500HD looks like with a contractor-style flatbed, and man, does it look beastly!
The image comes to us courtesy of Paradise Chevrolet, a Chevrolet Business Elite dealer in Temecula, California. A Business Elite Dealer is one that specializes in serving fleet and commercial customers with vehicles such as this upfitted Silverado Medium Duty 5500HD.
However, what we’re most interested in is that sweet contractor-style flatbed in the back. Right off the assembly line, the Silverado Medium Duty truck line comes without a bed, which means owners need to “fill in the gaps,” so to speak, by decking out the truck with whatever configuration is desired by the customer.
The contractor-style flatbed includes a number of tool boxes and places to store various tools, as well as supportive roof rails. Diamond-style trim is seen throughout the kit.
When applied to Chevrolet Silverado Medium Duty trucks like the Silverado 4500HD, Silverado 5500HD, and Silverado 6500HD, we think these bespoke contractor-style flatbed setups look quite impressive. Not only is it slick-looking and professional, but it’s sure to be remarkably sturdy and very utilitarian.
The Chevrolet Silverado Medium Duty truck line, also known as the Silverado Chassis Cab, was developed in conjunction with Navistar. It is equipped with the GM Duramax Turbo-Diesel V8 L5D engine, which produces 350 horsepower and 700 pound-feet of torque, mated to a wide variety of Allison transmissions. A gasoline engine option has been rumored, but has yet to be announced.
All said and done, this is a contractor-style flatbed setup done right, and the Silverado Medium Duty looks beastly with it.

Our company recently got one of these. IMO this is the best Silverado in the line up right now! It’s a perfect medium duty! Sized right, strong, configurable! Ours is just a base, black grille stripper but I bet the private horse owning crowd will be dressing these things up very soon!! It’s drives smaller and lighter than it looks and feels! A lot of the guys here were really impressed by it.
