Owners Already Lowering 2019 Chevrolet Silverado

The all-new 2019 Chevrolet Silverado hasn’t even been on the market for a full year, but that hasn’t prevented owners from beginning to customize it. Among the modifications you’d expect are lift kits, mud tires, or some other form of equipment that would make the vehicle more capable. Yet this particular owner decided to go in the other direction by slamming his (or her) new Chevy truck.
The single image, sourced from the Twitter account of Royal Trucking, suggests that this black 2019 Chevrolet Silverado has been dropped by way of a 4/9 bagged lowering kit and now rides on what appears to be 24-inch “replicas”. We’re not given any context as to which Silverado model we’re looking at here (though it appears to be the RST trim), but the hashtags from the tweet suggest that the new Chevy truck is riding on forged wheels and that the truck’s paint job has been powder coated.
Truth be told, we are finding it difficult to wrap our heads around this creation. After all, the 2019 Chevrolet Silverado a truck that is all about utility, capability, and ruggedness. But, as the saying goes, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and we appreciate any form of original automotive creation. So, while unusual, this slammed Chevy truck does look rather sinister.

Actually I screwed up my wish list.
When I said double cab or crew cab. What the ultimate street truck is, is a regular cab short bed.
And a performance brake kit could be added to the list.
You do realize that you can do all of that yourself!!! You don’t need the factory to do it for you!!!
that can be said about anything, yet here we are with people buying prebuilt homes or meat in a foam tray at the grocery store.
and from a dealer you can work all those accessories and performance parts into your financing.
Hahaha. Nothing buy show and zero go. The first tiny pothole they hit will blow or bend those precious rims! But whatever revs them up. And I’d sure hate to be the one riding in that thing.
Why?!!!! This is terrible! Lift it, (A little, not to much) not lower it! I guess it takes all people to make the world go around.
I’d never willingly do something like this and have the vehicle unable to step over the lowered curbing in a driveway apron.
Paint jobs don’t get powder coated. That’s not a thing.
Thats NOT A TRUCK. Its a toy now. That will never see a gravel road nor nothing like that. Useless is what comes to mind.
Agreed. You cant even use it as a truck. I am from Montana and if tried to use that there, actually nevermind i couldn’t. Even drive there in that. A truck is supposed to be used as a truck. I agree with you CE.
Looks fine to me. Plenty of lowered trucks are still driven daily and used to tow and haul. But hey. To each his own.
The author had never been in Houston, TX and it shows
Has anyone made a version that dances on its suspension yet? That is the mod I want, because it can be a sleeper. Great way to announce your arrival.
Hey, folks, that truck was lowered using bags… It can be raised and lowered at will using compressed air, so hopping a curb or doing anything an otherwise stock height Chevy can do is still very doable. Plus the truck will ride smoother (provided it’s a well done bag job) and will handle and corner better than a stock height truck when it is lowered. And it can still hail and tow! Don’t knock it til you try it!
@chris:
Why? And no, the bags will not make it ride better because the main source of isolation from the road and bumps is gone: No tires.
Tires are not the main source of isolation from bumps in the road. Even a tire on 15″ rim has less compliance in its sidewall than the vehicle’s suspension would have.
The second that truck hits a pot hole bigger than a quarter those comical rubber band useless tires will explode leaving this driver stranded on the side of the road. I’m not even going into foul weather conditions. No thanks
Don’t need a ladder to get in this truck.
Not everyone wants a 4×4 truck.. I have 0 use for it so a tastefully modified 2wd truck is perfect for me. And if you think that’s low don’t look at the 2 that Phat Phabz built for SEMA…
Most of the trucks I see are not anymore of a truck than this one. I don’t care how high you lift your truck, if it’s shiny with shined tires and buffed chrome wheels, it’s not a truck. It’s a giant gas guzzling long car. Most trucks now see more car washes than they do dirt.
Phat Phabz in Oklahoma actually bagged 2 2019 silverado look them up .. And this scene isn’t for everyone like hot rods or classic cars but any true car and truck enthusiasts wouldn’t hate on someone else’s hard work
Are the tires even pneumatic? They look like they are just pieces of rubber stretched over the wheels
I am so disappointed from GM . 2 months ago I did order my High Country loaded and I spend a lot of money for it cuz I want completely fully loaded truck now they just announced they added more to the truck & changing some design for 2020 probably this is my loss Chevy truck
