Our First Look At The 2020 Camaro In Rally Green

The 2020 Chevrolet Camaro received a slew of changes and updates over the poorly-received 2019 model year Camaro, including a redesigned front fascia, a new entry-level V8 performance model called the Camaro LT1 and a new Rally Green exterior color.

General Motors showed us the updated front fascia and new Camaro LT1 model right off the bat, but it didn’t have photos of a Rally Green 2020 Camaro to immediately share with us. Luckily longtime Camaro chief engineer Al Oppenheiser is fairly active online and recently posted photos of a Rally Green 2020 Camaro SS Convertible to his Facebook page, giving us our first real look at the new exterior color.

Unlike the emerald Rally Green that was offered on the 1968 and 1969 Camaro, this color appears very dark in the sun and is even darker than the old Lime Rock Green shade that was offered on the C7 Corvette from launch. The car Al posted a photo of also has a white interior, which contrasts well with the dark exterior shade. This car also has gloss black wheels, black mirror caps and a black Chevy bowtie.

These photos also give us a look at the Camaro’s updated front end in a color other than Shock Yellow and Hyper Blue. Compared with the 2019 Camaro, the new front fascia moves the Chevrolet bowtie emblem from the crossbar in the center of the fascia to the upper portion of the grille and also gets rid of the black-painted portions The redesign was first previewed with a design concept shown at the 2019 SEMA show.

    1. The ‘dog’ looks like he wants to get behind the wheel and get down the road like Buck in down the trail in ‘The Call Of The Wild’ … “Let me drive this thing”

    This green is awful.
Looks like something the military or some fleet company would use.

  4. ya, green – just like all the morbid colors of most of the cars now – varying shades of black and gray. Looked at a new truck the other day and the salesman said “how do you like the new color root beer?” I swore it was black before he said that. And of course the interiors all suck too – communist gray or CIA black. We decided not to buy a new truck and keep our nice blue 93 Chevy rallye van

    1. AL was instrumental in giving us the current highly capable Camaro build most of us want.

Nothing but kudos and appreciation for his efforts. Big fan.

  7. So much hate. Don’t complain if they cancel the Platform again, then you can get an ill handling Mustang or a Pig heavy Challenger.

I’ve had a 2016 Mustang GT. After much suspension mods, cooling mods, etc, it STILL handled like cr*p and ran hot. My ’18 Camaro 2SS with BASE suspension is 3 seconds faster around a road course…and that was with stock tires. And I can run it during hot track days without worry.

  10. Actually, I like the color, and the Cruze front end.

  11. *Time for Chevy to put a retro version of the 1970 – 73 front end on the car… for my money!*

    Reply
    1. While I like those front ends in either guise, this is a new century and Aero matters.

      Reply
      1. They have a smart aerodynamic engineering team. They could make it even more “aero” than the current version, and yes… WITH a retro ’70 -’73 front end!

  12. I like it because it is different. I would lose the black wheels and mirror caps and instead add the traditional Camaro lettering on the side and keep the black bow ties.

Sounds like you’re a wiener and a poser.

  14. That’s not Rally Green. Calling it that confuses the name with Original Rally Green. Looks like Ford Highland Green from Bullitt Mustang.. These decisions from Management make you wonder if they know their own history ?

  15. Let the b**tfest commence…..oh I see it already started.

Now all we need is that old guy telling us about his broken CUE screen and the other guy that has an obsession with “lazer lights” or whatever and the GMAuthority circle jerk is complete!!!!

    1. What does that even mean?

      1. I really shouldn’t have to explain but ok…..

Basically , about 80% people on this site hate every single thing that GM does, GM could cure cancer and bring their favorite dead pet back to life and they would still s**t all over it.

They also love to repeat themselves over and over again.

Is that easy to understand or do I need to break out the hand puppets?

        Reply
        1. Why don’t you use that hand puppet to put yourself in a better frame of mind. Your snarky and obtuse comments are neither informative nor amusing. People here have opinions, and you won’t impact what they think. Thank God.

  21. Okay everyone stay calm. If you don’t like the color choose another one. Even a five-year-old could tell you that. The best thing about this color because I’ve seen it already is that at night you almost can’t even see the car it virtually disappears just like that very dark metallic silver they put on the C6 Corvette coupes and that pinkish blue color on the Porsche 911 which from one angle looks pink but when you walk Halfway Around the car it looks blue and then at night that color completely disappears leaving you looking at only the wheels and the tires and the windows. That’s all you can see at night. That’s the kind of car I want to be driving. Invisible

  22. Everyone has their own opinion and that is great but others that disagree don’t have to be stupidly sarcastic over it. I mean let’s talk back in 60’s each car model had its own look and style then 70’s went to simple then 80’s and on all look alike. Why don’t Camaro Mustang Corvett Trans am and others go back to their own style and sparkle Gor us to notice and enjoy

  23. Gonna have to see this color under different lighting conditions or perhaps in person to decide if I like it. If not, then there are a few other colors I do like. As has been already stated, no reason to throw a tantrum, just pick another color. That is, unless you’re just looking for something (maybe anything) to complain about.
