New Lawsuit Alleges GM Fit C7 Corvette Grand Sport, Z06 With Faulty Wheels

General Motors has been served a new lawsuit that could soon become a national class-action lawsuit over bad C7 Corvette Grand Sport and Z06 wheels.

CarComplaints.com published the lawsuit information on Wednesday, which details the troubles Corvette Grand Sport and Z06 owners have with the aluminum-alloy wheels. Owners have complained to the NHTSA that the wheels bend, warp, and even crack. A cracked wheel poses a safety risk as it could puncture a tire while driving. To be clear, there is no recall for the Corvette for the complaint, but the NHTSA has documented the issue thus far.

One owner said he leased a 2018 Corvette model and took the vehicle to a shop to have them coated, but the shop took video upon his arrival that two wheels were bent already. The dealership the owner leased the car from said his driving style was the likely cause and both wheels cost $7,500 to replace. Eventually, GM paid the owner $1,200 as part of the out-of-pocket cost. However, the lawsuit argues this is a breach of the car’s 3-year/36,000-mile bumper-to-bumper warranty.

The proposed class-action lawsuit argues GM knew about the wheel defects beforehand or else customers would not have purchased the sports car.

Although multiple customers have filed complaints with the NHTSA, one owner characterized the problem after just 1,000 miles on his new C7 Corvette Grand Sport. The owner said vibration suddenly occurred while driving around 55 mph and a dealership said all four wheels were bent and needed replacing. GM Customer Care told the owner this issue was not covered under warranty.

The faulty wheel lawsuit was filed in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California with Capstone Law named the firm to represent the plaintiff.

But the tech showed me my while spinning the wheel to balance it that it’s got a hop from wheel being out of round …i had complained to dealer I thought I had problem at 803 miles. They said it was tire noise. I have 2217 miles now.

  7. Where in the hell did the owner get $7500 from?!?!?

The most expensive rear OEM wheel right now for Z is the chrome one at an MSRP of $959.10 per wheel. Two would be $1918.12. That does not compute to $7500.

The Grand Sport customer is funny too. Just “suddenly” occurred at 55mph? What massive hole did he drive through? 4 wheels don’t just bent all of the sudden.

They are a high diameter wheel (19″ in the front, 20″ in the rear) but that’s not the demerit to this issue. Its the stiff 285/30R19 front RUN FLAT tires, and the 335/25R20 rear RUN FLAT tires that don’t help. Also, if these folks are using TRACK mode on the streets, it stiffens up the shocks quite a bit. Stiff shock setting, plus stiff run flat = something has to give. In this case, the wheel.

    1. Dude,

Unfortunately, you’re spouting off without having personal knowledge of the problems and the costs. Guess what, I have (2) cracked rims on my C7 GS and a very reputable high-end wheel shop said they have had numerous C7 GS & Z06 owners come in for the same problem. None of us drove over any abnormal roads or did anything unusual. This shop would not guaranty their repairs if we put the Zero Flat tires back on. They said the combination of the sub-standard wheels made in China and the Zero Flats that are so stiff do not allow the normal for normal absorbtion of minor bumps in the road and they will eventually crack. The $7,500 amount could have to do with having to replace all the wheels and tires to non-Zero Flat and could also include loss of use, the cost of the Zero Flats that have to be thrown in the garbage, etc. You simply don’t have all the facts so I’d be a little more careful with your commentary.

        1. You have to change your wheels to something else… the wheels that are on their are cast aluminum wheels and will be stamped GM/speedline/Mexico in the inner wheel. Dealers in NJ do not carry them and you cannot order them from Chevy. They are known to crack. I just ordered a set of ZR1 style flow forged wheels for my Grand Sport to replace them. Already went through denial and was trying to keep it original but gave up cause I couldn’t keep up with the amount of cracks in them. 4 rear wheels and many days of stress on this issue.

    2. Hello “new dude”,

I can attest first hand that my GS was found to have a cracked rim. I have never driven the vehicle over any bad roads. The rim is certainly faulty as I drive my s-class which has the low pro amg package, and also my Ferrari Cali which also has low pro tires, all on the same roads and the GS and Cali only in the summer time. Never had a problem with any of the 12 rims other than the passenger rear on the GS.

This is a real problem, as rims should not just “crack” under normal use.

Totally disagree with your assumptive remarks as same is made without merit.

  9. I guess it’s time for a “Smart TPMS” system that monitors all kinetic forces. Impact, shock absorber travel, steering angle, wheel degree of revolution, air pressure, wheel balance etc. All to account for each impact’s damage (crack or ding).

Maybe they should put a sidewall graphic that is to scale where it is visible to the driver.

How about lidar cameras up front and to the sides that records the height of all the curbs, driveways and potholes that ricky racer hits during their daily commute.

Or we could go back to these as standard,

  12. To me this and many other GM law suits are do to GM design flaws.

I know there are a lot of GM lovers – loyalists, as am I, but when you design a X-lb vehicle with run flat tires and light rims, this is what you get.

When you buy a GM with the run flats, low profiles, does it state ANYWHERE you are to ONLY drive them on runways and race tracks, or the salt flats ?

Unless it says in the warranty ” not for use on American roadways ” how is this not covered.

We hit a heat heave in the highway with our ATS. Run flats of course, ruined a tire, bent one rim, cracked the other rim.

    NO WARRANTY.

We have since removed the run flats and its like we have a completely different vehicle.

Design a vehicle that drives on an American road and the troubles just go away.

GM however , BLAME, BLAME, BLAME.

  15. it’s about time… I have been waiting to see this issue. Both my rear wheels were replaced within six months of each other, mind you I live in the northeast and my 2017 c7 GS is garaged months out of a year. I only drive it in the daytime so I can see where I am driving and to avoid any ruts or potholes. This is a known problem that GM is aware of both my wheels were replaced under warranty. The dealer stated it is common and mainly occurs on the wider rear wheel and occurs on the inner portion of the rim. My passenger side rim was cracked in 7 places going around the rim. So I know it’s not a driver issue. Wish I could post the pic. So all those saying it’s potholes and a driver issue I can say it’s not. GM really wanted that wheel back once I sent them pics of it to their customer service center.

They’re faulty wheels. It’s not a bumpy road problem. Mocking drivers who have wheels falling apart through no fault of their own is not a drive problem, it’s a manufacturer problem. Stop being so blindly brand loyal or hyper critical or others and read: faulty wheels. Not pot hole dents. Warped, cracking, spokes falling off pieces of garbage.

  20. Dear Everyone Above,

Low Profile Wheels, and Aluminium construction doesn’t equal robust wheels that can handle pot holes. I had quite a few friends buy light weight Aluminium OZ wheels (1200 per Wheel). They bent 2 rims within a week due to horrible road surfaces /pot holes. I wouldn’t assume OZ is a defective company that can’t design wheels. Sorry but saying a wheel is defective because of it’s light weight construction and low profile is BS. How is this news or considered defective. Also not sure how it’s a design Flaw that a Performance Car has a wheel set that is intended for track use can’t handle the lack of money put in most public roads that cause EVERY Wheel to shatter break or bend. Detroit local here. I don’t care what you drive and how robust you think your wheel is, terrible roads and low profile tires = damage.

    2. What, so Corvette owners shouldn’t drive on public roads? Were they informed of this at the time of purchase?

“Sir, if you drive this Corvette on public roads then you will need to replace the wheels on a yearly or even monthly basis.”

Interestingly, Camaro owners with 20″ rims don’t have the same. That’s not to say they never bend rims, they do, but it’s typically the result of hitting a pothole or the like. Check out the Corvette forums: owners are discovering bent rims despite never having hit any potholes.

    3. DapperDan,

Respectfully, you are comparing apples to oranges. This vehicle is sold as a mass production vehicle to be driven on the roadway. Further, a bent rim is one thing. A cracked rim is unheard of in my experience. There is a huge difference there.

  22. I love the: To all above, To whom it may concern.

Like ALL the law suits up against GM for FAULTY DESIGNS, of FAULTY PARTS.

Is GM designing a vehicle to drive on the American road ?

Does it explicitly say in a warranty statement, do not drive this vehicle on American roadways ?

When you purchase a GM vehicle, does it say — your wheels will break, your ignition will shut off while driving, your engine heater will start a fire, your 8 speed transmission will not shift, you will not be able to see the road with your headlights, your heated seats will catch fire when your vehicle is remote started, AND ON, AND ON, AND ON, AND ON.

And what about quality control ?
Does GM have a supplier quality standard ?
Does GM have a design engineering spec that a supplier has to meet ?

Just want to say, I have been driving for 39 years, and for the first 36 years have NEVER cracked or broke a vehicle rim !!!!

And as far as you can’t drive a vehicle on the American road they will all break rims, do they, ALL break rims ?

Am I the only one who finds this simply hilarious that a 100+ year old vehicle manufacturer cant design a vehicle that can drive down the road without breaking, or bending the wheels ?

Come on now, LISTEN TO YOURSELVES !!!!!

IF the wheels are FAULTY under X conditions, the wheels are FAULTY.

The engineers and designers design wheels for EVERY VEHICLE ON THE ROAD TODAY !!!!!!!

Design a wheel, spec a wheel, purchase a wheel, that will last, PERIOD, PERIOD.

Again unless it states, CAUTION — DO NOT DRIVE THIS VEHICLE ON THE ROAD—, damage to the wheels will occur.

How is it the driver fault ???

UNLESS ITS NOT A FACTORY WHEEL, and ONLY then is it the fault of the person purchasing or installing a wheel with the WRONG spec !!!!!

  26. Im a dealer I have had had over 30 Corvettes 20+ collection at once. I still have 2 as I started thinning out the heard recently. Just want to add for all the people saying it’s the drivers. Funny that none of our Porsche wheels have ever bent, or cracked and a 2 of the 911s we drive year around. Also never had any issues with our M3,M5, of 750LI M that sits on 22s on 30 series and out weighs a Corvette by a few thousand pounds. My wife is absolutely famous for driving over anything that gets in “her way” including fixed objects off and over curbs. Shes a BMW girl Many curb rashes and damaged front spoilers but never bent any wheels. My c7 z06 and the only and last Escalade bent wheels. Wheels were the least of our problems on the Escalade but they did bend. Our c7zo6 also gave us transmission vibration and occasional hard shifts since day one No one seemed to know why because well can you ever find a GM tech that knows anything about new vette releases? The c6 ls7 had 8k miles before I had head problems, had 2 c5s that were pretty great cars other than a few electrical issues. It’s not the drivers its GM. Corvette sales are down over 75% from thier best year and will continue to drop. They were the middle class sports car with a muscle car feel in a category all of it’s own at one time and that’s why it was successful and profitable. Now they out priced the middle class that loved that car and are chasing supercars I dont know who they think is going to buy them or what thier plan is anymore. They have a quest for performance with the Corvette but use cheap materials. I dont understand it. The 2019zr1 release and sales should show them that the 140k 150k Chevrolet Super Car is not a hot ticket. It’s ok to build a middle class sports car let Lamborghini be Lamborghini, we dont need a 1000hp, 8 speed transmission, on 19s around or a mid engine Ferrari wanna be. Build a nice quality sports car for 40 to 50k and stick with it. American cars are designed by price points and they cram into them what they can. European cars are designed the way they need to be and then they charge the customer for it whatever it cost. Something will give eventually because it cant last forever there is over 8 million Americans more than 90 days behind on thier vehicle payment right now and the vehicles keep getting more and more expensive terms stretched as long as a mortgage on an asset that isn’t worth even the interest amount after a few years. Lawsuits will be the least of the manufacturers worries if this keeps up.

    1. With your luck, you should stay the hell away from anything GM.

I had an M5 and I bent several wheels and when I traded it in, all 4 wheels were bent. This is extremely common with BMWs on low profile 30s where roads are anything but smooth. The roads in the North East are certainly not pool table smooth like in Germany.

BTW, since you’re a “dealer” you should know this, you don’t get a sports car for 40K, you barely get a Camry. Get real!

Don’t look for the middle class in the US. It’s now in China and is 600 million strong and growing rapidly. For people who spend their entire paychecks on Chinese goods, they are the problem, Enjoy your opioids! The Corvette C8 growth potential is in China as they are scooping everything at the high end. Ferrari, Lambo, Rolls… sell the majority of their cars there.

      Reply
      1. The growth potential is in China? That’s why of the ….almost 10k Corvette’s sold last year 89% were in the USA, the other handful in Canada, mexiconand Europe. The best selling year Corvette ever had was in 1979 and its been down hill ever since because the average househol hold income was 10k a year and the new Corvette was 5k. That’s why they sold cars. Right now there are still 2018 brand new c7s on lots, and obviously 2019s. The 2019 Zr1 limited PRODUCTION bad ass vette that it is and most expensive ever. More than half of those are still sitting unsold. There is a 2 year waiting list on Ferrari models and the average profit for them is 80k a car. So please please tell me how GM is making all the right moves lol. Have you been to China I spent months there and they could care less about the Corvette or American cars lol.

Received a call today that they found (1.) issue with torque converter, so did a fluid flush( they said they are getting about 2 a week for this! — they also said they are using a new improved fluid they find is solving everyone’s problem with this). This is covered under warranty. (2.) back driver-side wheel is bent, so will be $750 to replace. “They said” this is not covered under warranty and this isn’t something they see very often (hmm).

After several attempts to get the problem solved the dealership said that I had three bad tires and four bent wheels. The tires were covered under warranty but the wheels were not. I live in Mid state FL and do not live on a dirt road with potholes. But GM is telling me that due to my driving style and road conditions that is what caused my wheels to bend. I had the wheels replaced and still had a vibration. The dealership did a trans service to solve the problem. I was told to drive the car 200 miles for the trans to do a relearn. The vibration did not go away. Took the car back to the dealership and was told that three of the new wheels are now bent. My auto insurance has put SEVEN new wheels on this car in one month. To date there has been SEVEN wheels and FOUR new tires replaced. I do not drive the car in fear of the wheels bending. I contacted GM and they said that are aware that GS and ZO6 have FRAGILE wheels but it is the costumers falt that the wheels are having these problems. GM was so nice to offer a 100.00 service for the problems that I have had.

On my most most recent debacle (cracked drivers side rear) GM service found the 3 other wheels were also bent. Note that I never engage track mode for street driving, contrary to DapperDanMan’s explanation (which I’m not buying), points straight to poor wheel quality. Unless I’m missing something – other similar market segment sports cars (i.e. BMW, Porsche, Mercedes – even the C6 didn’t have this ) also have low profile tires and surely they don’t have this issue at the rate of failure that seems to be plaguing the C7. I’ve owned 10 -15 sports cars over the past 30 years, w/ low profile tires on aluminum rims and have NEVER had an issue like this.

March of this year I had seven wheels and 4 tires replaced to try to fix the problem (bent wheels). The tires were replaced under warranty the wheels covered under auto ins claim. The entire time I was told the problem with the wheels bending was due to driving style and road conditions (potholes). I dont drive the car in fear of the wheels getting bent. I called the same dealership where I bought this car from and five new corvettes. I am looking to trade the car in and maybe not have the same problem with the next one. My car has 4060 miles and was offered 53000 for the car because of the problems with bent wheels. I know that new cars value falls after purchased but 30,000. The dealership was so kind to let me come in and put a deposit down on a C8. I haved owned 14 corvettes dont see number 15 in my future. I guess that is why this car is a true collector. Good luck to all with a C7 owners that have a bent wheel problem.

  44. I also have had 14 Corvettes —-I have always run lower air pressures than that as specified —I have had great tire life — the tires will expand at least 4-6 pounds with highway heat and you usually are not running speeds of 120 MPH all day long –and yes I have used nitrogen as well, so go 4-6 pounds under spec ————instead of losing $30000 maybe buy aftermarket wheels for $10000

    1. I get where you are at on the tire pressure. After the third set of wheels were put on by the dealership they had put over 36lbs in the tires. I run 27lbs in the tires. The point about putting some aftermarket wheels on the car.At the time of the replacement the dealership put oem wheels on the car due being replaced under a auto ins claim. No I am not going to loose 30,000 on trading in the car. The dealership suggested filing a lemon claim on this car I guess they have a lot faith in their cars.

  47. Adding to the pile. C7 Grand Sport. Three cracked wheels. First one I paid for but the two rear wheels that cracked are in no way getting replaced with OEM equipment. I have an appointment in a couple days and am opening a case. But needless to say I’m shopping replacement wheels for the vehicle.

Worst case scenario. GM doesn’t replace the rears under warranty. And I buy replacement wheels $2500-$5000+.
Best case scenario GM replaces them under warranty and I still buy the replacement wheels. Confidence in the wheel is lost. They’ll only crack again.

To anyone thinking about buying a C7 Z06/GS I would suggest planning to buy third party wheels. It’s the only issue with the cars. Well other than the Z06 over heating issues.

    1. Good luck. GM will not warranty the wheels. I went thru a bent wheels problem and was told by the dealership and GM that it was due to driving style and road conditions. GM was so kind to offer a 100.00 gift card for my problems. In one month the dealership put on 7 wheels to solve a vibration problem. I am afraid to take it back to have these wheels checked. My car has only 4300 miles on. The current tires and wheels only have 500 miles on them. Do not put OEM wheels back on the car you will never solve the problem.

I just got a call from my auto ins company that they are not renewing my auto ins due to the bent wheel problem with this car. No I do not have traffic tickets and auto accident problems. I turned in two claims in on the bent wheels because the dealership said I was hitting potholes causing the wheel problems. The frustrating problem is the same dealership knows of the problem but puts the same crappy wheels with the same problem on the car. I would love to take this car to do some auto related events but in fear if bending the wheels I dont . I could buy some better wheels but this car had a sticker price of over 80,000. The future is not looking good for another GM product.

  57. I guess I’m joining the club with an issue with a cracked wheel on my 19 GS. The right rear started showing low tire pressure. After taking it to my tire dealer to find out the reason, we removed the wheel and found nothing wrong with the tire. We did find two cracks in the wheel on the inner rim. We also put the wheel and tire on a tire balance machine and discovered that the wheel is warped. I have felt some vibration, but I thought that was just the nature of some of our rough roads. Now, I have an appointment at dealer on Monday morning to take all four wheels off and determine if there are any other cracks, etc with the remainder of the wheels.

    1. Ken gray,

BMWs have the same problem. We don’t have the baby smooth roads that are found in Germany. A single hole can ruin a wheel with 25 or 30 aspect ratio tires. Those tires are meant for a race track.

I have warped 2 complete sets of wheels on my BMWs and I’m talking all 4 at the same time. Yes I have 30 aspect and have recently switched to 40’s.

Let’s face it our roads are crap and that’ not the fault of the automaker. Americans don’t pay their fair share of taxes and the country wastes 1 trillion on defense spending.

  58. I had the same problem on my 2017 GS. I take very good care of my car and never hit or ran over anything out of the ordinary (for CA roads that is). I took my car to a reputable wheel repair shop and confirmed that the air loss was from cracks in my rear rims. One was cracked in 3-4 places and the other in 1 place. I called several GM dealers from the wheel shop and was told I had to bring my car in for inspection. The process was a hassle but necessary according to them. They confirmed the cracks on both wheels, took pictures and sent them to the GM warranty department where the claim was promptly denied. I spoke with GM corporate customer service twice, once before the inspection and once after and was told there was nothing they could do. I promptly complained and told them it was totally unsatisfactory that they would not stand by their faulty decision to use cheap wheels and use rigid run flats on them. I since had to replace all four wheels with better rims. A totally unexpected and untimely expense that I should have never of had to bear.

Two nights ago, during some rain, found a pothole just off the freeway. Bam, two bent wheels (OEM). Found out from my wheel guy, he’s replaced bent wheels on at least four C7’s (GS & Z06). This is my 3rd Z06, all have been high mileage DD’s, all have encountered lousy roads & potholes. But this is the first time any of them have had a wheel issue. I’m certain the design is part of the problem, as are the materials used. Hopefully it’s just a fluke, and something that won’t continue to the new C8.

  70. Hi Gary,

Join the club. I had to replace all (4) rims and tires due to the faulty wheel and run flat tire combination. GM put me through the hoops and made me have the car inspected. I also called GM customer service. The warranty department denied my claim even though I was still under the 36K, 36 month warranty. They claim it’s due to normal wear & tear, poor roads or aggressive driving, all of which are complete B.S. as any world class sports car should be able to handle normal driving conditions. I never hit a major pothole but I have 4 cracks in one rear wheel and 2 in the other. It’s simple physics really, the weakness of the “forged” wheels combined with the unforgiveness of the run flat tires causes the energy to transfer directly to the rim which then cracks. GM doesn’t want to admit their fault I’m sure due to cost of a recall and potential liability. I say it’s just a matter of time that someone has a major accident or gets killed due to their wheels failing at the wrong time. Unfortunately, I don’t know that there is a current class action lawsuit or I’d join it too.

    Good luck,

    Chris Payne

  72. Sorry guys, bent and cracked rims are an insurance issue. You can also buy a wheel/tire policy to cover all of it with a small deductible. I managed a Lexus shop for 14 years and as soon as the low profile tires came out, we had cracked and bent rims. Same thing still happens today. Just look at other manufacturers issues with racing tires and wheels and runflats. It is a fact of life. So just drive around the potholes and slow down on rough surfaces. We should all know when we hit a pothole. Some cities will actually participate in paying if it is in the lane of traffic where you cant go around them. Do your homework and get the extra insurance policy if this is something you don’t want to pay for. I changed to higher profile tires as soon as I got my C7 Z06. It rides much better and chances are less for a damaged wheel. Peace

The car is not abused and driven on smooth Florida roads. I have had Corvettes for the last 40 years and this is a disgusting way that GM is treating it’s valued corvette customers.

  78. Guys, I don’t think there’s actually a class-action lawsuit going on anymore. If you read all the threads, I think someone else already settled a case and that’s that. It appears that 99% of the rest of us got screwed after jumping through all the inconvenient hurdles that GM and their dealers required. It’s really a simple thing. When they have some a low profile tire that is a stiff/rigid run flat you must have quality rims or the energy transferred from any minor bump will cause the weakest link to fail, in this case it’s the cheap, defective Chinese made rims. I’d love to feel they’d acknowledge this but they just don’t want to man up and do the right thing due to liability and cost, that simple.

  84. All of us who bought a Grand Sport or Z056should file with Kehoe Law Firm, P.C. Investigating Consumer Claims on Behalf of Vehicle Owners and Lessees.
Class Action Lawsuit Filed On Behalf of All Persons in the United States Who Purchased or Leased Any Chevrolet Corvette Z06 (2015-Present) or Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport Vehicle (2017-Present) – Kehoe Law Firm, P.C. Investigating Consumer Claims on Behalf of Vehicle Owners and Lessees
Kehoe Law Firm, P.C. is making consumers aware that a class action lawsuit was filed on March 31, 2020 against General Motors LLC in United States District Court, Northern District of California, on behalf of all persons in the United States who purchased or leased any Chevrolet Corvette Z06 (2015 to present) or Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport (2017 to present) vehicle designed, manufactured, marketed, distributed, sold, warranted, and/or serviced by General Motors LLC (“GM”).
According to the class action complaint:
The . . . [v]ehicles are equipped with wheels (a.k.a., rims) that are prone to bending and cracking, necessitating costly repairs and replacements. In addition, cracked rims can cause puncture the tires, causing air leaks and tire blowouts (collectively, the “Rim Defect.”)
On information and belief, the Rim Defect occurs because Chevrolet in designing and/or manufacturing these specific [v]ehicles, which are sub-models of the Corvette line, used rims that are of a cheaper cast material, rather than forged. They also used less material than necessary in order to try to save unsprung weight (i.e., weight that is not borne by the cars’ suspension). As a result, the rims are not strong enough and crack under normal driving conditions. [Emphasis added.]
    Additionally, the complaint alleges:
Despite access to aggravate internal data, GM has actively concealed the existence of the defect, telling customers in online forums that the wheels are not defective and that the cracked wheels are caused by potholes.
GM sells the Class Vehicles with a 3-year, 36,000-mile bumper-to-bumper warranty. However, when class members bring their vehicles to GM’s authorized dealerships requesting coverage for the Rim Defect, GM is systematically denying coverage. As a result, Class Members are paying thousands of dollars out-of-pocket to repair and replace the wheels.
The Rim Defect is material because it poses a serious safety concern. Cracked rims can cause the tire to fail and explode while driving, leading to a sudden loss of control at speed and a potential collision.
The Rim Defect is also a material fact because consumers incur significant and unexpected repair costs. GM’s failure to disclose material facts regarding the Rim Defect at the time of purchase is material because no reasonable consumer expects to spend hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars to repair or replace defective rims.
Had GM disclosed the Rim Defect, Plaintiff and Class Members would not have purchased the Class Vehicles, would have paid less for them. [Emphasis added.]
U.S. purchasers or lessees of any Chevrolet Corvette Z06 (2015-Present) or Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport vehicle (2017-Present) designed, manufactured, marketed, distributed, sold, warranted, and/or serviced by General Motors LLC are encouraged to contact Kehoe Law Firm, P.C. to discuss potential legal claims.

  96. I just took my rims in AGAIN. ALL 4 HAVE MORE THAN 1 CRACK. It has been a none stop battle. Replacement after replacement. This is not ok. How to I file in the class action lawsuit

  97. I have read about so many of these wheels cracking yet no one has said what type of wheels are they. I was told that this is not happening to Chrome wheels, is this true. Granted I do not have many miles/Kilometers on my 19 GS with chrome wheels! and have not a problem yet if and when I do I will get aftermarket! I will not waste my time with GM Canada all they have are people that answer the phones and will not get anywhere with them, been playing games with them for 50 years!

  99. Why do you keep ordering Generous motors junk, get aftermarket. If and when mine go bad that’s the way to go. I have bought new GM cars since 1965. So let me tell you you are dealing with some real assholes!

  101. This is our 3rd Corvette. Our 2016 Z06 had two rims replaced by GM. GM refused to cover the third cracked rim. We ended up have to buy forged rims. Not sure if we will buy another Vette after this .

  102. I’ve had 2 rear rims left and right that have cracked i replaced the first one that cost me over 900 hundred dollars. Then I drove from Florida to Michigan on the interstate by the time I got to Michigan I had another cracked rims and the other three were bent. The dealership in Michigan (Graff) wrote up a work order stating this and also showed this to me while my car was on the hoist. 2019 Grand Sport

  103. Sad to hear that! But no one has said what wheels have cracked or bent? I have not seen anything on Chrome wheels doing this!?

  104. Two more black rims cracked on my Z06 2018. Front and rear. Dealer states they will not help out. Chevy will not help out and says I have to pay out of pocket to repair which is B.S. These are like the 5th and 6th wheel to crack. Anyone know of a good aftermarket rim similar to the black ones on the Z06?

  105. I also have 4 cracked and bent rims on my 2019 grand sport, and Chevy refuses to honor bumper to bumper warranty. Said it was caused by my careless driving. Going over potholes too fast. Yes, I’m going to drive my 65,000 car at speeds that would cause me too get enough air to come down and bend and crack all 4 rims at the same time. And yet, after inspection by Three way Chevrolet, there is no damage to under carriage of car, not even a scratch. And everyone that has a2019 grand sport knows it only sits 4 inches off the ground. And how much force has to be applied before sitting off the airbags?

  106. This is just terrible but why have dozens of people I have read about said what wheels are on their car? No one has said if they were chrome wheels!?

  107. I bought a 2019 Grand Sport LT3 used from a certified Chevrolet Dealer with 5999 miles on it. 3 months later took it back for new tires, 2 days after new tires installed the right rears was losing pressure, Took the car back to them and said they couldn’t find anything wrong with it. Then took the car from PA to KY to the corvette museum, on the way home tire was losing pressure again. Took the car back in and they tell me my rim is cracked and they wont cover it because my 1 year Certfied GM warranty expired a week ago! Not happy that the car was in for new ties and 2 times after that for the same problem and they tell about the crack when warranty is up!

  109. I went thru 5 cracked rims on the inside part of the rim lip area on my 18 z06 w/ black rims. The extra warranty I got covered up to $2500 so I used it all up and on the 6th wheel crack I had to pay out of pocket. I still have the cracked rims at home.

  110. Thank you you are the first one to state that you have black wheels! I have been asking this question ever since this fiasco began. I belong to the Corvette Club Of Windsor Ontario and our members with GS’s have chrome wheels including myself have had no problems so far!? Barry.
