The teaser image for the upcoming IndyCar content shows a 1969 Brawner Hawk III painted up in a special 50th anniversary livery. As GTPlanet points out, this year’s running of the Indianapolis 500 will mark 50 years since Mario Andretti won the race in the Brawner Hawk. The Brawner Hawk isn’t available to race in Forza Motorsport 7 currently, but it was previously featured in Forza Motorsport 6.
In addition to the Brawner Hawk, the current-day Dallara IR-18 IndyCar chassis is also expected to be added to the game. IndyCar chief marketing officer C.J. O’Donnell hinted the IR-18 was headed to Forza Motorsport 7 in an interview last year, so it seems likely the car would arrive with this update. Additionally, the IR-18 can be seen lurking in the background of the teaser image.
At the time, O’Donnell also hinted that IndyCar was looking to expand its video game presence
“We are expanding our presence in gaming. INDYCAR has a larger presence in the latest releases from Project Cars and iRacing,” he said. “Forza is also adding the new INDYCAR to its platform this season. Unfortunately, we do not have a game developer signed to build an INDYCAR branded / dedicated platform (at least, not yet). Discussions regarding this feature platform are ongoing, and we hope to have some good news in the coming year.”
Stay tuned for additional information on the upcoming Forza Motorsport 7 update.
