Speciality Vehicle Engineering, the New Jersey-based tuner responsible for the new Yenko-branded Chevrolet Camaros and Corvettes, has debuted its next project – a new GMC Syclone based on the Canyon.
Powering SVE’s new GMC Syclone is a supercharged, 455-horsepower version of the Canyon’s 3.6-liter V6. The tuner also has an available Sport Suspension Package, which lowers the front ride height by two inches up front and five inches in the rear, and also adds thicker traction bars, new bushings, stiffer front and rear shocks, and a rear sway bar.
Other options include a stainless steel cat-back dual exhaust system, 20-inch five-spoke wheels with Syclone graphics and sticky front and rear performance tires. There are some standard exterior and cosmetic enhancements as well, such as a composite hood insert, body color rocker panels, Syclone door and tailgate badges, a body-color front grille and grille bars, and a painted rear bumper. Unlike the original Syclone, it will be available in all factory GMC Canyon colors and not just black.
The Canyon’s interior gets the performance treatment via Syclone embroidered seats, custom Syclone branded front floor mats, and a numbered dash plaque. Each new GMC Syclone will also come with a numbered Manufacturer’s Certificate of Origin and Syclone branded key fobs.
SVE says it will build just 100 of these trucks, so if you want one, you may want to act quickly. It will cost you $39,995 on top of the price of the donor truck, which can be either a 2WD or 4WD Extended Cab Canyon. It will also be available to order via GMC dealers, or you can get in touch with SVE directly.

That’s pretty sweet but i’m not sure a traditional “4 wheel drive” system would hold up under the abuse. You would need an all wheel drive system such as in the original Syclone!
The factory shoulda done this all along. At least offer the suspension package.
doesn’t mention any upgrade to the drive train which means it must be able to handle the added power. Or its just not in the information they released.
Holy crap. Forget the Canyon, just gimme the drivetrain in a Camaro.
Supercharged? The Syclone was a turbocharged truck.
Cool idea and I really like the fact that it is being made. Wish GM could have done something from the factory, but the price would have been too steep for anyone to consider and it would be a sales loss to GM.
Speaking of price, this thing is $40k PLUS the price of a truck. Looking at the GMC website, an extended cab 2wd with the V6 starts at $23,295. Same truck as a 4wd is $32,195. Those are just BASE canyons, so do the math if you want to upgrade the truck at all before sending to the tuner. This thing will be easily an $70k+ truck with only 100 being made. Sadly that means most of us will never see one in the wild and they will be built to sit in someone’s collection hoping for an investment payoff 25 years from now rather than driven like they should be.
very cool truck unfortunately only people with money to spare can afford it nobody has 70k to spare not with this economy.
This economy? Where are you living Venezuela?
Fans did not ask for that vehicle. They wanted something that paid respect to the original. It is not turbo charged which would have been easy with all the direct injected turbo motors out there today. The wheels have absolutely nothing in common with the originals. It is an extended cab. It comes in different colors. It is available in 2wd and 4wd but not awd. I can’t think of a worse vehicle to offer. It is as if they decided to create the worst rendition of a Syclone possible. I hate hate hate that truck! I hope they don’t sell any and that awful aftermarket company goes out of business.
